"Martha!"
Emily ran from the now ballooned girl. It was her third time now, she was done. Guilt washed over the girl, crouching down behind a pallet. She had only been chaired once, if she just took a hit then maybe Naib and Martha could have healed up and come back for the save. But she was so scared of that Hunter, the Feaster. I mean she really hated that guy. The beginning of the game was bad enough, everyone being chaired for at least 30 seconds.
Now it was just her and Naib. Where was he anyway? Two ciphers left, it'd take a miracle to-
"The dungeon is here!"
Her eyes widened and she rose her head. Naib was by the dungeon? All the way over there...
"Focus on decoding!"
He was still trying? He wasn't one to leave people behind, but the odds were so high against them... if any at all, only one of them would make it out. She should've been the one to go on that chair, not Martha.
Maybe, I can just use myself to save one last person. I'm a Doctor, yet everyone got hurt and there's only two of us left-!
She was conflicted, her emotions over taking her as she sobbed. However fear struck her as her heart began to beat. She covered her mouth and cowered. But she realized, that this is exactly what she did to Martha. She hid. If she hides now, the Feaster will pass her and run into Naib. She had decided.
I-I'll save you Naib, don't worry!
Adrenaline took over how scared she was, and she stood up running to where her heart would speed up quicker. Eventually she ran into him, the tall thing... her knees shook but she was determined to not let another person die for her cowardly self pity.
"Don't rescue me!"
She yelled loud enough for Naib and the Feaster to hear. He turned to her and she ran up to him her eyes landing on the building behind him. The basement was in there.
"Don't move, I'm coming!"
He was coming to save her? She worried but continued her objective and jumped the window.
"LEAVE ME!"
Nothing was heard after she said that. So she had hoped he stopped running to her, knowing her plan.
The Hunter followed her into the shack, a stray tentacle hitting her. "Ah-!" She sped up and ran down the stairs, the cold getting worse in this snowy hell. She tripped onto one of the many chairs and held herself up. She knew what was coming as her heart raced, and she felt a hard hit to her back. She stomached it and didn't make a sound.
If she was in the basement, he'd have no choice but to put her down here in a chair, it would give Naib more time.
Eventually time ran out, and the hunter had just left. She would give one more final shout of encouragement.
"Come on, keep it up!"
