"This fucking sucks!!"
You jumped as you ran, the mercenary shouting right behind you, constantly yanking the large webs from the hunter off of him. However they never seemed to get loose. "C- c'mon Naib! The gates just up ahead don't worry about those-!"
You were both at half your health, running for the open gate as Violetta gained on the both of you with detention. "It's making me slow, I hate it!" He complained again, you decided not to bicker with him anymore, only hearing a small ramble of annoyed curses from him.
"S-stop running!"
Violetta was in clear worry of how close you had come to the gate, and did the only thing she could from her distance and shot a web. "Eugh-!" Naib clearly didn't like the sticky trap hit him as it pushed him forward, but what you disliked was him falling. Onto you and brining you down with his sorry self. You yelped when you hit the ground, his weight toppling on you like a million pounds.
"Damnit Naib!" It was your right to complain now, and when you made the move to stand up and keep running you realized you couldn't. "Naib get off!" His weight kept you down and you felt him struggle. "I would run a hundred miles away from you if I could-!"
Ah, sticky. You looked down best you could at the silky web that wrapped around the both of you. "Nooo!!" Violetta jumped at your shout, but before that she seemed seemingly surprised with her skill. "Anyone but Naib-! Eli? Even Aesop's anti-social self would be better!" You could feel the Mercenary grow mad, but you popped your head up to see the hunter best you could and gave her pleading eyes.
She only watched, before taking a step back and your face dropped. "No- you can't leave us here!" You writhed to Naib's discomfort and Violetta quickly scampered off to hunt Tracy with such an opportunity. After your heart had calmed down completely, only then did you go limp in defeat. You couldn't move like this, your legs were intertwined which made walking alone too difficult. "Did you start dancing mid fall or something?" You said irked, and he huffed in annoyance. "Roll over." You said.
And he seemed offended. "What!?" You winced at his shout before glaring at him. "You're crushing me! Unless you wanna be charged with my murder!"
"Geez I'd be fine with it being you!" But as he said that he rolled over anyways and you breathed clearly now. He turned his head at a strained angle just to avoid looking at you, while you looked up to see the exit gate at least five meters away. "Do you wanna roll-?"
"No."
"Alright." You laid there on his chest, waiting for Violetta to come back. You weren't bothered by it, but the longer you waited in silence besides the sound of the trees old branches in the wind, you began to grow.. impatient. Out of all the days Tracy decided to be a god kiter- you mentally moped at your situation. Did Naib feel the same way? Annoyed?
Well actually, you weren't actually annoyed by this, or him. You suppose you did have little feelings for him somewhere inside of your stubborn heart, so you would only argue with him as a result. You just didn't know any other way to talk to him was all! Ah but- he did the same to you. Maybe he was honestly annoyed with you, truly? That idea made your stomach sink though.
Maybe you should try and read his facial expression? Yes! A good plan!
You turned your to face him and you almost screamed to find him staring at you already. "Jesus!" You shouted, jumping so hard you actually stretched the web for a second before it snapped you back into place. "What!? You want me to snap my neck looking that way the whole time?" He turned his head upwards in a fit of embarrassment, looking at a now upside down exit gate and you strainfully kept your chest off of his.
If anyone would've walked in this it would've looked like you were doing some sort of circus act, with the way Naib craned his neck and your back stretched beyond belief, you could only hope Violetta returned to chair you soon.
"N-Naib?"
He was quiet for a second before he relaxed his neck and looked up to you. "What." You had managed to loosen your hands and planted them on the sides of him to prop yourself up. "Do you want to try sliding out?" Your almost free arms was proof that going up or down would eventually free you, and with how long Tracy was taking to get caught, you decided you could at least give it a try to escape. "I'm not going down-"
"Yeah I figured thanks."
You pushed against the webs as you slid down, and it was surprisingly working until... "Nevermind!" You rose back up and he jumped. "What! You're such a kid!"
"Then you do it!"
"No!" You bickered for another minute or two, neither of you wanting to slide on the other anymore. You pushed against him, finally having it and trying to force your way out again. "Why don't you just wanna roll!?" You complained, and he fumed. "BECAUSE!" His cheeks turned red and he looked away as far as possible. "Because what!??" You whined, just wanting to get out and go back home already.
"I-!" He caught himself and stopped, and his sudden look of embarrassing quickly turned to anger again. "That's stupid!" You stared at him in disbelief. "What!? If we get out the webs will just come off on their own don't you get it? If you won't roll then I'm sliding out of this mess and leaving you he-!"
"I'm enjoying it!"
You stopped shouting at the top of your lungs, and stared at him with shock and embarrassment. "W-what's wrong with you!?" You pushed up the hardest you had yet which made more room, and as great as that was Naib clearly meant what he said as he reached around and pulled you down with the opportunity. "W- we're gonna get caught-!" You complained, but he didn't say anything as you continued to writhe in his arms.
"Please."
He mumbled so softly but it reached your ears that were listening just for his voice. "Don't move." You were hesitant, because this wasn't who you were. You weren't the affectionate person who longed for attention, or at least blatantly in front of others. You believed he didn't expect you to come easily, but if you weren't so stubborn you would've instantly held him back.
"Naib..." He carefully let you prop yourself up, and you looked down at him. Only then did you see his beet red face. "Why are you-." You couldn't finish, knowing you'd clearly address his words, but he knew what you asked. "I know we're both stubborn, and not the type to give out any sort of affection but that made me think... if I keep waiting for (Y/n) to do something first would I ever get to tell her how I feel..? Because guessing by your reaction you're still trying to seem like you don't like me."
Ah what? That last bit echoed in you're head. "Y-you know?" You felt free of the webs that had finally fell off from the constant struggle, and you sat on top of him nervously. "I just always decided to believe it. But after what you just said I guess it's true." He rose up as far as he could to look up to you. How cruel. You flushed and scowled at him. "That's-! This is the worst type of confession I've ever gotten just so you know!" You whipped your head away pouting at how matured he had gotten, just to make you look like the little kid.
"So you?" He rose up, lowering his hips which in turn lowered you. "Mmm." You made no agreement, you just couldn't it felt to weird. He stopped his advances, but now sat up straight to come over your shrinking form. "As much as you love yelling and cursing at me with that spunky mouth of yours, you can't even say you like me a little?" You leaned further away, making an emotionally pained groan at his words.
"Fine, if you don't like saying affection then.." He softly placed his arms around you and pulled you to him to hold, and like he imagined you did not refuse his actions. Words were hard, at least for you, so showing him you let him hug you clearly was an acception to his dreary confession. "I love you... (Y/n)." His throat opened strangely as he said that, even he was not accustomed to speaking such a way, but when you said nothing back he realized how your relationship would be from then on, lots of physical and barely any talking. "Right, sorry."
He pulled your heated face up and to his as he nervously took a quick kiss from you. He was okay with talking about it, and you were okay with showing him physically you loved him. So you picked up the webs and pulled them over you and leaned onto the mercenary. For him you'd say it once in a blue moon. "I love you too..."
He laid back down with you on top of him, and you waited there until Violetta would come to find you, because now you'd do anything for just a little more time together.
