Chapter 66

JJs POV

I'm 20 weeks now, and I get to go back to work tomorrow, still only with Pen until next week. I got cleared off bed rest last week but couldn't come to the office until today,

Emily and I are actually going to be late getting there since I have an appointment today, we get to find out the gender of our baby and I'm so excited

Emily took the job as the Unit Chief of the BAU, she started last week since that wa when I was off bedrest and Rossi took over for her and he will again when I go on maternity leave.

"Ready to get back to work?" Emily ask me as we were getting ready to leave,

"Yes, I can't wait to get back in the field" I say

"What?"

"You're not going back in the field until after the baby" she says and I scoff

"Emily I'm an adult, If I want to go to work I will" I say pulling up my leggings and over my bump

"Jennifer you just got off of bed rest, you don't need to be out there chasing criminals 20 weeks pregnant" she says and I roll my eyes

"I'm not having this conversation this with you" I say and grab my phone and head out of the room and downstairs,

Kenna had left about 20 minutes ago for school so it was just Emily and I.

She can't be serious about me not working, there is no way she is expects me to just sit in the office for only god knows how long until my maternity leave is up

"Emily! We're going to be late" I yell up the stairs and walk out of the house to get into the car,

Once she got in the car and we started the drive to the OB,

"You want to stop for coffee?" She ask

"No, I just want to get there and get to work" I sigh and turn to look out the window. Today was going to be special. We learning the sex of our baby and it already started out terribly

We were now sitting in the doctors office waiting on Dr.Montgomery to come in

"Jennifer please talk to me" Emily says

"What Emily? I don't think it's fair that you think you can just decide weather or not I can go to work" I say

"Look. I'm sorry okay? But do you really want to be out there where it puts you and the baby at risk?" She ask and I shake my head

"I'm not doing this to be mean jayje, I'm saying this for yours and the baby's health" she says and I nod as she wraps her arms around me

"Hey- oh, I'm sorry for interrupting" Dr.Montgomery says coming in the room

"You're okay" I say and she gives a soft smile

"Are you ready to see what you're having?" She also and we nod

"Most definitely" I smile

"Okay, lay back and lift your shirt" she says while getting the machine ready

"Remember gel is a little cold" she says and puts it on my stomach  and moves the wand around

"You're baby looks fine, your placenta is in a perfect position. And congratulations on your baby girl" she smiles

"It's a girl?" I ask excitedly and she nods

"We're having a girl!" Emily exclaims and wraps her arms around me

"I'll give you two a moment and I'll be back to talk a little more" Dr.Montgomery says and we smiles as she walks out

"A house full of girls?" I chuckle

"Makennas going to be so excited" Emily says

"Should we call her? Or wait till she gets home?" I ask

"Definitely wait, although I have 10 messages from her asking what it is" she chuckles

About 10 minutes later the doctor walked back in just like she said she would

"Do you have any questions?" She asked

"Can she go back as a field agent or stay at a desk" Emily ask

"After next week she can go back as a field agent but with any pregnancy take it easy and don't exert yourself too much" The dr replies

"I told you" I mumble

"I can have sex though right?" I ask

"Yes you can" she chuckles and I smirk up at Emily while she is shaking her head

"If that's all I'll get your papers and your free to go and I'll see you again at 25 weeks" she says and we both nod

Emily's POV

We just pulled into work and are on our way up to the BAU, telling JJ is wasn't a good idea to go back to work I know hurt her feelings but it's to keep her safe.

"We telling the team?" I ask her before walking out of the Elevator

"Not yet, we have to tell Makenna first" she says and I nod

"Sounds good" I say and take her hand as we walk into the office

"So? Girl, boy? More then one?" Penelope ask running over to us

"Sorry Pen, our lips are sealed" JJ smiles and Penelope pouts

"What!?" She frowns

" Makenna gets to know first" she smiles

"Hmph" she groans and walks away

"I could hack your medical records" she says

"Penelope Garcia, no" I chuckle

"Welcome back boss" Rossi says

"It's good to be here, a little weird being the boss" I chuckle nervously

"You'll do Great" Kate says, she will go on maternity leave soon and basically as soon as she gets back JJ goes on hers

"You guys are going to have to bear with me while I get into a rhythm now"'I say

"Well you are already doing an amazing job" JJ whisper in my ear

"You're having a boy" Garcia speaks up

"What?" I chuckle

"I just know it" she says

"I don't know, I say girl" Kate says

"Me too!" Agrees Rossi

"No, it's definitely a boy" Spencer says

"You all will have to wait" JJ says

"I'm right" Penelope mumbles

It was almost 4 now and JJ and I were waiting on. Kenna do get home so we could tell her she was going to get a little sister, she has been texting us all day but we have held out on telling her

"Mom! Momma!" Kenna yells coming in the house and JJ and I were sitting at the kitchen Island

"Kitchen" I yell back

" I have been texting you both all day and you haven't responded" she frowns

"I know I'm sorry but we wanted to tell you in person" JJ says

"You're getting a little sister!"
