it had been officially 3 days since hyunjin had allowed any sort of heroin into his system. every day felt as if it were become increasingly painful.
although the addict had slept most of the time he was in the dorm to take his mind off the pain, he has noticed chan become significantly more...sweet? he wasn't cussing him out or calling him names. he wasn't constantly telling him how useless and unwanted he was...no, he was being quite silent but helping him out, and that seemed to be a more tolerable version of chan. hyunjin could get used to it if chan kept his mouth shut like he was.
like right then it was 3am, hyunjin was bent over the toilet bowl throwing up the dinner he had the night before, and chan was on the floor with him while holding back his hair along with rubbing his back for comfort. hyunjin wasn't going to lie, nobody ever touched him in such a sweet way aside from felix, hence why he's in love with that petite blond. so it felt nice to be cared for, even if it were by someone he disliked.
once he finished being sick he collapsed back onto chan who caught him in his arms. "i'm so tired of this. i just want it to be over" hyunjins voice cracked within a whisper. the pain was unbearable, all he wanted to do was to feel better.
chan felt pity for they boy after these few days of seeing him in such a state, he would have been a monster not to. he sat on the floor rocking hyunjin in his arms for a few minutes, not wanting to leave the bathroom just yet, for caution in case hyunjin got sick once more. "i know hyunjin, i know. but look at you, it's been three days. that's the most sober you've been in 5 years."
it was different hearing such encouragement come from chan, but it felt nice to have people start to care. he had been all alone, and in the past week he's been cared for more than in the past 5 years combined. it was a big change and he thought that maybe he'd feel happier because of it but all he felt was
pain.
eventually chan carried hyunjin back over to his bed. today was the day chan was to go out and buy a detox for the boy, hopefully it would work and results in a significant decrease in the pain he was undergoing.
the australian slipped on his shoes and a light sweatshirt, grabbed his wallet and headed for the door. "hyunjin I'll be back in about an hour, use the spare phone i gave you to call me if you need anything. i should be the only contact on there." just as he was ready to shut the door and leave, hyunjin spoke up as well.
"chan i- i feel funny...it—it hurts so bad. my head, my—my eyes—"
"i know hyun, i'll be back as soon as i can. please just rest until i get back." chan hadn't noticed he called the boy a nick name for the first time, it simply rolled off his tongue naturally. and with that said, he left the dorm, heading straight for the nearest pharmacy.
...
20 minutes. that's all it took.
20 minutes since chan was gone and hyunjins head was pounding. it felt heavy, as if he couldn't pick up his own head. his vision was going blurry, more that usual. he wondered if it was the tears...or if something was wrong. now to describe the pain in his head, it felt like knives crushing through his skull, putting pressure in all the wrong places. this wasn't something he had felt before...this felt wrong, the pain seemed amplified in a way.
if he could scream, he would. unfortunately all that came out were silent cries.
as he went to wipe his tears, he pulled his hand back to see blood. blood covering his hand. it was his nose. he shot up to a seated position, resulting in immense pains piercing through his body. he didn't feel stable enough to walk, his head felt heavy and his eyes were blurry. he'd fall over if he were to stand.
