seungmin arrived in a matter of minutes, unfortunately there wasn't much he could do with hyunjin being unresponsive. not to mention the horrid state the poor boy arrived in. he looked as if he'd been crying for hours, and it was true. his mental state had been wrecked with jeongin leaving him and when seungmin had checked social media's that night it absolutely broke him to see jeongin was doing just fine while dancing on plenty of other people and making out with strangers.

his head wasn't in the right place to even try and help hyunjin. but he still came.

"according to the symptoms i'm seeing, it could just be high blood pressure like last time...or he could be overdosi—"

"overdosing?! he's sober! he wouldn't, he didn't leave my sight the whole time!" chan raised his voice, resulting in seungmin flinching and stepping back from the intoxicated man just for safety precautions. it was clear he had drank far too much as well as smoked a decent amount of marijuana due to the stench clung onto his sweaty apparel.

"i believe you, chan. i'm just saying the possibilities, i'm not saying that is his case. but are you absolutely positive that he didn't take any drugs while at the party?"

before chan responded, he turned around facing hyunjins aching body and pulled the covers off his body. he began to search his arms for marks near his usual sight of injection, but there was nothing. he continued to frantically searched the males body for marks even though it could've been any other drug out there from pills, cocaine, or lean even.

unfortunately when chan checked the youngers feet and saw a bruised patch with clear injection marks between his big and second toe, he fell back onto the floor and buried his face into his hands. he couldn't believe he failed at his one priority. his one job. he was speechless, he couldn't find the words to express how much pain he felt he had put himself in. and he couldn't imagine how hyunjin was feeling at them moment.

while the eldest was crying on the floor, seungmin had taken the hint to call an ambulance. he could see the severity of this situation and from the sight of hyunjins state, he could tell this was not something to take lightly. If it were simply high blood pressure, the symptoms would not be something to worry much about as he would probably get some sleep and wake up and be sick for a few days. Although, since these symptoms were from usage of a dangerous substance, there was no clear sighting of what the near future will bring. but unfortunately from the looks of it, and the acknowledgment he had been a former addict, the possibility of him passing away was quite high.

"hyunjin— you fucking! stupid! piece of shit!!" chan bursted out in tears, slamming his fist on the boys night stand. "why? WHY?! y-you we're doing so well..." he sniffled, scooting over and intertwining his fingers with hyunjins. "please don't fucking leave me now...not after all this."

"he's going to be alright" seungmin forced a smile through his own pain that had now been toppled on by the stress of his former roommate overdosing. the youngest rubbed chan's shoulders for support, silently, until the ambulance arrived.

...

"sir, i'm gonna need you to calm down. we have to take him in for tests to see everything that's going on in his body. we can not have you in the rooms with us." a nurse explained, blocking the entrance as chan watched hyunjin get rolled away on a stretcher. "please have a seat in the waiting room until instructed otherwise."

chan felt defeated by everything at the moment. he was all alone in a waiting room, only forced to wait who knows how long until he found out weather hyunjin was alive or not. he couldn't handle it, and his intoxicated body was not dealing with it well. he needed someone there with him. he would have asked seungmin to stay, but the poor boy was on the verge of breaking down himself from his own situation. so chan called the only person he knew would come. felix.

the phone rang as chan impatiently tapped his foot waiting for an answer on the other line. it was nearly 3 am...would felix even pick up?

yes, because chan wouldn't call felix unless it had to do with hyunjin.

"chan? is everything alright" felix said in a groggy tired voice showing it was clear he had been asleep.

"n-no...please come to the hospital..." he spoke quietly with his words laced in shame.

"hospital!??" felix sat up in his bed waking changbin, his voice now raised unlike before.

"i-i'm sorry" chan cried, he felt so weak and defeated that he had let this happen.

but to felix, the slurred words, cries and apologies sounded like as if hyunjin had already passed away, which is what scared him the most. "what the fuck happened?! did you hurt him?! is he- is he dead...?" felixs abrupt screaming faded into a quite whisper as he spoke the last words, the simple thought made his chest hurt.

but the worst part about this was..."i-i don't know..." chan answered, felix hanging up quickly after.

the blond rushed out of bed grabbing his wallet off the night stand and kissing changbin goodbye, telling him that he would be back in the morning. changbin heard the conversation over the phone, he knew felix would be back, after all this wasn't the first time he had left like this. although, the thought of hyunjin passing even scared him, because he knew that if one thing could make felix completely snap, break, it would be this.

as felix rushed out of the guest room of his parents house, he was met with a worried boy in the hallway. "get out of my way, jisung. i need to go."

the brunette rubbed his tired eyes, tilting his head slightly in confusion as if he were a puppy. "go? it's really late...i heard you yelling, is everything alright lix?" he asked sincerely. jisung could tell felix was on the verge of tears by the way his breaths were unsteady.

"it's not like you'd even care if i told you." felix spat, pushing past jisung and rushing down the stairs.

but jisung did care. he always cared...so he chased after felix, down the stairs and through the foyer meeting him at the front door. "is it about hyunjin? because i do care felix, i always have..."

"really? because when he needed us and you were his only friend that still had access to seeing him, you didn't. you left him alone. you're no better than you're shitty ass boyfriend. please get the fuck out of my sight and just go back to bed, i cannot handle looking at you and dealing with this when my best friend could possibly be dead. so please for the love of fuck jisung, just go." felix tried, he tried to keep it short for times sake.

"lix please! i was scared, scared of what minho would say—"

"i don't want to fucking hear it! if you really cared, you would have left that asshole the first day he told you to stay away from jinnie."

"then what about chan?!? you gave chan a second chance, why not me?" jisung began to tear up, holding back his cries to show he wasn't weak anymore. not a stupid crybaby that listened to every command his boyfriend instructed.

felix sighed, running his fingers through his hair out of stress. "god dammit, just get in the fucking car."
