"he is alright."

the words chan craved so badly to hear roll off the lips of every nurse who passed by. yet it had been two whole dreadful hours and the three boys had yet to hear an update on hyunjins situation. felix found himself sitting on the right side of chan, building up the courage to apologize to the eldest for lashing out before hearing the full story.

honestly it was hard to see hyunjin and chan fall for each other, he couldn't process how it came to be after such a rough past. but the freckled boy couldn't deny how in love chan seemed when explaining to felix all the reasons he couldn't have hyunjin die on him.

"we never went out on a proper date" chan had said to felix, eyes spilling with tears as he proceeded to explain all the things he wanted to take hyunjin to do since he missed so much of his teen years.

"i want him to experience a first job, buy a house, and live in his own place." chan had also stated since he knew the boy had yet to do those things as well. let alone had ever been offered that opportunity.

"i never got to see him smile very often" chan mentioned. he explained how he couldn't have hyunjin go this soon when he'd only seen a true, sober smile once or twice.

"i want to show him how loved he is" cried chan, the last thing he told before going silent for the past 20 minutes. he wanted to show hyunjin every form of love from the bottom of his heart. every small gesture he could and every warm touch he would savor. until now chan had never acknowledged how deep he truly was in it with hyunjin. hell, they even went to a party with a mass of other students, yet only talked with each other the whole night as if they were the only ones there. they would get in arguments about who would take a shower first, and every time would end up in there together. they had two beds, yet lately had only been using one. they always waited to eat together, walk to class together, get to bed together...everything they began to do, they did together.

and even if that was under the request felix had payed chan for, the two never expected to enjoy every damn second they spent with each other. especially the small moments where they shared warm kisses and soft hugs. to the hazy yet memorable moments together where they openly exposed themselves to one another, feel the heat of their body's inside and around eachother. creating moments of addicting, pleasurable comfort that they wished could last forever.

But reminiscing on all of these lovely memories only had chan in a state where he couldn't bear any more bad news. he was too close to being broken, now having the one thing he was attached to, ripped away from him by something he couldn't avoid.  chan could not avoid the raging addiction inside of hyunjins blood, the one that craved a dangerous substance more than he craved himself. A toxic addiction that is caused them to be sitting in the lobby of a hospital at that very moment. the same addiction that has caused one too many people...pain.

"felix i have to use the bathroom, will you go with me?" jisung peeped quietly, afraid the younger would lash out if he spoke to loud.

"you're a grown man, go fucking piss by yourself" he snarled, not in the mood for a traitor like jisung try and befriend him after what he did.

so jisung stood up himself and headed to the bathroom, his repetitive glances back hadn't gone unnoticed by chan, nor felix. as he made it into a stall and succeeded in locking himself inside, he pulled out his phone to see one too many messages left from minho, they read:

mine : wya baby?
mine : where are you?
mine : jisung come back to bed please
mine : ???
mine : yk this is my parents house right?! i can't just have you wondering around like a fucking idiot in the middle of the night. my parents already don't like how fucking whiny you are all the time.
mine : gd i can't believe you sometimes
