chan walked inside the room, almost falling apart at the sight of the nearly unresponsive body of hyunjins. he stepped up to the bed the boy laid and knelt down to one knee, reaching up to intertwine their fingers.

after slipping his hands into hyunjins soft palm, he leaned in setting his lips upon the addicts hand. "wake up...please" he sniffled, tears uncontrollably escaping his shaken eyes. he hated that hyunjin couldn't respond...he hated that they were here in this room...and what he hated most was that there was a possibility he would be leaving this hospital without hyunjin.

he would have to drag his feet out of this building and drive back to the empty dorm. he would have to sleep alone in his small dorm mattress every night and wake up alone each morning. chan would have to start living a life without hwang hyunjin in it, and he'd have to find someone knew to give him that overwhelming thump in his chest and tingle in his finger tips because the one person chan loved most was slipping away from him.

five years ago,
the morning after the party...

"get the fuck out!" minho yelled in the tallers face.

hyunjin hung his head low walking out the guest room door and down the stairs to the front entrance. he had officially faced his biggest fear, which was getting caught by not his parents, but minho and other peers. it was a guilty shame that took over the high, influencing his emotions to be heightened.

"hi- hyunjin where are you going?" felix said as he ran into the taller male at the end of the stairs. hoping to give him a hug, but was held back by someone.

"felix, i'm sorry but hyunjin isn't welcome here." minho grabbed his younger brother by the shoulders and pulled him back not wanting him to go near the addict. as of the boy was a monster.

"i'm sorry felix, i'll see you at school monday"

and with that, hyunjin exited the large home in a rush to find someplace to himself. he began hyperventilating as he choked out cries, collapsing once he made it to the end of the driveway. this couldn't be happening, he couldn't be losing the one person he loved. not only that, but he was now toppled with the pressure that he'd lost his virginity to some older student who seemed to hate him now. "why me..." he cried and just as he wiped his tears, a car pulling out of the driveway caught his attention.

it was chan.

the car came to a stop next to the collapsed addict who sat on the lawn. "get in."

hyunjin looked up in disbelief, was this guy going to help him? was he going to be someone who cared and helped him get better? was he willing to give hyunjin another chance? whatever the case was, a ride was a ride and hyunjin definitely had no energy to be walking across the city that morning.

not after all his hope was sucked out of him.

hyunjin got into the passenger seat of the car, hesitating to look at the elder man.

"look at me."

well that definitely got hyunjin to finally look up. "hyunjin, you're so fucked in the head for what you did. you are aware of that, right?" he scoffed, putting the car in drive, braking eye contact with hyunjin and started to head down the road towards the city.

"i didn't do anything, you don't even know if i did anything either. so can you not blame me for something we can't and won't ever figure out!? it's bad enough minho kicked me out. you know that's where i sleep 80% of the time, right? we're the fuck do you think i'm going to sleep now?" hyunjin had lost it. he was crying and pissed at everyone for letting this happen to him. he just couldn't wrap his head around the fact this small conflict he had between himself and chan was actually tearing down any sort of stability he had left within him, and around him.
