"you okay?" chan asked as jisung sat himself in the passenger seat of his car, tears dried to his cheeks. the younger boy turned his head and smiled through the emotions to show chan he was okay enough.

eventually they made it back to the hospital where they entered to see felix still fast asleep in the lobby chair. "hey jisung, can you take a seat for me while i go to the front desk? take this granola bar and try to eat it for me, okay?" chan spoke softly, reaching into his pocket for the snack and passing it to the frail boy to eat. jisung did as he was asked and sat down in a lobby chair two seats away from felix in case the blond woke up and didn't want to be near him.

back at the front desk, chan stood waiting for a nurse to be at his assistant. soon enough another male came to the desk to offer his help. "how may i help you?" he asked.

"are there any updates on a patient named hwang hyunjin? he was admitted two hours ago and we have yet to hear from anyone."

the nurse flipped through the admissions sheet and then walked back to another room for a moment, seemingly communicating with another nurse. soon he came back out approaching chan with an unreadable expression. "as of now he's asleep and being heavily monitored. i'm sorry to say things are not looking up."

chan's heart sunk as he avoided eye contact and gave a shaky "thank you" to the nurse, attempting to walk away.

"wait sir, would you like to see him?"

of course he would. he'd do anything to see him. but he couldn't leave jisung out here alone, and felix would be upset if he woke up and he was the only one not visiting..."can i bring them?" chan asked the doctor, pointing back to the two boys.

"i wish i could say yes, but i'm not supposed to allow any visitors for a few more hours so i can only get by with sneaking you in... i'm very sorry sir."

chan sighed glancing back at the two, he wanted to be in the same room with hyunjin, he wanted to be there if he woke up, but he also promised to keep jisung in sight or with someone who was capable of taking care of him.

that's when one certain person came in mind.

seungmin. and although seungmin was not doing so well himself, maybe a little company would help cheer him up. introducing the two might be good for both of them in the long run anyways.

"excuse me doc, but let me make a phone call and i'll head into the room by myself soon, i just need to find someone to watch him" chan said implying jisung was the one who had to be watched. the nurse understood and said he'd be waiting in the office behind the front desk and just to call for him when ready.

chan proceeded to take out his phone and dial seungmins number, luckily the younger picked up rather quickly.

"is everything okay?" his soft, weak voice rang through chan's ear.

"well not exactly but i do need your help."

"go on"

"i have a friend with me, but i can't leave him alone and they are only allowing one person to enter hyunjins room..."

"so you need me to watch him?"

"please? and could you come pick him up too?"

"sure, but chan i'm really not stable enough to be caring for someone else right now. is there anyone else you can think of?"

"no. i would say jeong— him, but he's shitfaced at a party and you're the only person i trust with him anyways."

"alright, i'll be there in ten. what's his name?"
