Now if you said Tony stark had a 25-year-old daughter most people wouldn't believe you, and until 5 years ago I wouldn't have believed you either. For the first 20 years of my life all I knew was that my father was never in the picture, and probably forgot I even existed. I just chalked it down to my mom being young and stupid with a random guy she met at the bar. I was half right. I just didn't think the random guy would be the one and only Tony Stark.
To be honest a lot more made sense once I found out he was my dad, like where I got my brains, sarcasm and taste in music from. When he found out I was trying to set up my own charity to help reduce plastic pollution and other environmental issues he wanted to throw in some money to help, make up for the last 20 odd years. I turned him down though, I wanted to do this on my own and know that when I did it, I only had myself to thank.
So here I am a 25-year-old stood waiting outside my own charity brunch waiting for my dad to arrive. I glance down at my watch checking the time, he was 20 minutes late. I check my phone hoping to see a text or missed call explaining where he was but nothing. I try and push the thoughts saying he'd forgotten to the back of my mind as I pull up his number and think about calling him.
One of my trustees walks out and taps me on the shoulder grabbing my attention. "Sorry but they're waiting for you" she apologises glancing down at my phone.
I quickly lock the screen "yes of course, my apologies I was just waiting on a late arrival, but they've called to say they can't make it" I say putting my phone back in my bag "lets get this started" I sigh walking into the venue.
My attention was elsewhere the entire event, I kept glancing over to the entrance hoping he'd arrive but he didn't. Just a couple other late arrivals, one being a tall blond haired man who sat down at the very back.
Once the event was over I contemplated going back to my own apartment, but when I looked out of the window and saw the avengers tower I changed my mind.
As I entered the tower the AI system recognised and greeted me, "hello miss stark, shall I inform you father of your arrival" JARVIS asks as I step into the elevator.
"no, just tell me where he is, and it's Miss (Y/L/N), Not Miss Stark" I say correcting him.
"Apologies Miss, he's in the labs with Dr Banner" the AI says as the elevator doors open.
I try and keep the rising feeling of anger at bay as I stalk toward the labs. I fail miserably as I barge into the lab making tony look over at me suddenly, iron man helmet on his head.
"why are you all dressed up?" he asks taking off his helmet and setting it on the side smiling over at me.
I raise an eyebrow at him impatiently, waiting for that big brain of his to work it out.
"Do you know what day it is?" I ask him crossing my arms over my chest, he furrows his brows for a moment in thought.
"shit its your birthday isn't it, god I'm sorry you look fantastic though" he apologies gesturing to the dress I was wearing.
I stamp my foot in frustration "no its not my birthday! I had a charity brunch today, one you said you'd attend! I waited for you all morning!" I exclaim in frustration.
Realisation dawns on his face "god I'm sorry I thought it was an evening gala type thing" he says but I just scoff and shake my head at him.
"you thought my charity brunch was in the evening! A bunch. In the Evening." I point out.
He sighs dropping his shoulders "I'm sorry I saved it as charity event, not brunch so just assumed it was in the evening, look I'm sorry I'll be there for everything else I promise" he apologies walking over to me.
