Warnings: Angst, Fighting, Fluff

"Get the hell away from my daughter Rogers!" Tony shouts glaring daggers at steve summoning his suits gauntlet and aiming at steve.

"Tony calm down" steve says taking a steve forward and holding his hands up.

"Calm down? Calm down? I asked you to keep her company not date her!" tony shouts pointing over at me.

"Tony c'mon" I say trying to intervene.

"No (Y/N), this is unacceptable! I won't let this happen, I won't!" tony disputes, I looked over at him shocked.

"tony that's enough!" steve shouts stepping between me and tony "yes you asked me to keep her company, when you couldn't be asked to go and I got to know her and she's incredible and I love spending time with her!" steve tells tony making me smile slightly.

"well you can kiss that goodbye because I'm her father and I'm stepping in and shutting this down, (Y/N) you are no longer allowed to see him" tony says grabbing my arm and pulling me towards him.

"what no!" I protest trying to pull my arm free but he grips it tighter.

"I forbid it!" tony shout, I finally pull my arm free and push tony away from me.

"No you don't you don't get to!" I yell "I spent the first 20 years of my life thinking my dad was some deadbeat asshole, when I met you I thought maybe I was wrong who else gets to say the great iron man is their dad!" I scoff shaking my head.

"but you know I was right all along, you are some deadbeat dad who doesn't care about me enough to bother to show up and just sends someone in their place. Can you even tell me what I've done the past few months?" I shout.

tony blinks in shock and remains silent.

"no you can't, but steve can because he was there, so you know what thanks tony, you being an asshole meant I got to meet steve and my life has been great ever since" I say walking over to take steve's hand in mine.

He squeezes my hand reassuringly and pulls me closer smiling warmly down at me.

"so if you have a problem with that, its your problem not mine, but don't worry about it I won't be sticking around here for you to see" I say turning back to tony.

He furrows his brows "(Y/N)" he sighs but I interrupt him.

"I survived 20 years without you, I can survive the rest" I tell him "c'mon steve lets go" steve wraps an arm and around me and leads me out of the labs.

We get outside on to the street when steve turns to face me "you okay?" he asks putting his hands on my shoulders.

I choke back a sob coving my mouth with my hand as I shake my head, "c'mere" steve sighs pulling me in for a hug.

He holds me tight as I continue to sob into his chest, he rubs my back soothingly gently kissing the top of my head. He doesn't speak and just lets me cry myself out.

Once the sobs turned into small sniffles he gently takes my hand "lets get you home okay?" he says, I nod my head slightly wiping away my tears letting him lead me to a taxi he flagged down.

I remained silent the entire ride back to mine resting my head against steve's shoulder replaying the argument over and over again in my head. Wondering if I could have done or said anything to change it.

Once we were back at my apartment I instantly went and sat on the couch pulling my knees up to my chest and looking out the window. I could hear steve moving around the kitchen and soon a cup of tea was being placed in my hands.
