Warnings: Spiders! Fluff!

An Unlikely Hero

Frank let out a long tired sigh as he climbed out of his truck. Standing up to his full height he stretched out his back, feeling the satisfying click that followed. God he was glad to be home, he couldn't wait to have a shower and wash off all the grime and sweat from the day.

He also couldn't wait to get home to you, curling up on the couch. Preferably with you in his lap, his arms wrapped around you, head buried in the crook of your neck.

Walking the short distance from his truck to his apartment he opened the door and instantly found you, Mary and Fred curled up on the couch together.

"Oh, Frank thank god you're home," you say breathing out a sigh of relief when you spotted him.

Frank frowns when he sees the fear in your eyes as you looked up at him "why what's wrong? Is everything okay?" He asks.

"There's a spider" Mary explains from her spot on your lap.

"A spider" Frank repeats arching a brow.

"Yes, and it's under the coffee table right now," you say pointing out the spider.

"Okay... and why can't you sort it?" Frank asks glancing at Mary.

"Because it'll come straight for us as soon as we leave the couch, it already scurried towards me earlier!" You exclaim shuddering.

"Right...." Frank says slowly "well why don't you three go into the bedroom while I sort it?" He suggested.

"Nope, I'm not setting foot on the floor until it's gone" you state shaking your head.

"Okay, stay there while I sort it" Frank sighs.

"God no! what if it escapes or you drop it I need to be as far away as possible" you exclaim looking up at Frank as if he was mad.

Frank huffs rubbing his hand over his face "well I don't know what to suggest honey"

"Why don't you carry us?" Mary pipes up.

"Excuse me?" Frank asks arching a brow.

"Carry us, we'll be out of the room and we won't set foot on the floor" she explains.

Frank closes his eyes while breathing out a long sigh, this wasn't exactly the relaxing homecoming he was expecting "fine, c'mon then squirt" he says holding his arms out for Mary.

She quickly clambers into his arms, holding onto Fred as Frank carried them across the room and into the bedroom. He then made his way back over to you, easily scooping you into his arms, and pressing a kiss to the side of your head.

"C'mon then honey, let's get you to safety" he sighs as he carried you across the room.

"Thank you Frankie" you smile kissing his cheek and making him smile back at you.

Once you were to safety he promptly got rid of the spider allowing his relaxing evening to finally begin. The two of you curled up on the couch together after dinner.

"Frank, can you tuck me in?" Mary asks walking into the living room.

"Sure, c'mon then," Frank says standing up from the couch.

He hooks his hands under Mary's shoulders, lifting her and placing her over his shoulder making her giggle. He carried her to her room, gently placing her down in her bed, pulling up the covers and tucking her in.

"Hey, we both know you aren't afraid of spiders so what happened today?" Frank asked as he pushed some hair out of her face.

Mary shrugs her shoulders "Y/N was scared, I was protecting her until you got home"

Frank couldn't help the smile that grew on his face hearing that "thanks squirt, I know I could count on you" he smiles before kissing her on the forehead "now get some sleep"
