Warnings: None

Normally my walk to work was relatively uneventful, however when I turned onto the street where my office was it was still full of rubble and damaged cars. I carefully pick my way through avoiding the large piles of trash as I made my way over to the newspaper stand opposite my office.

"one of all the main ones please bob" I say pulling out my purse to fish out the money I needed"

you know most people get their news online nowadays" bob says grabbing all the newspapers for me.

I shrug my shoulders passing over the cash "I know but my boss likes to see them spread out all over his desk, plus there's nothing like cracking open a fresh newspaper" I smile taking the large pile of newspapers.

Bob chuckles "well you keep me in business so I can't complain" he smiles with a small wink.

"See you tomorrow bob" I wave as I head over the street and into the office building.

I walk straight to my boss's office, "I've got the papers" I say walking and placing them down on his desk. He sat leaning back in his chair nodding to whatever the person on the phone was say, as I went to leave he held up his finger telling me to wait one moment.

"yes of course, I'll get my best person on that and I'll get back to you" he says before putting down the phone.

He then picks up a couple of newspapers reading over the headlines, I stand there awkwardly waiting to find out what he wanted me for.

He leans back in his chair and rubs his chin in thought "How are things out there?" he finally asks, I furrow my brows in confusion.

"Do you mean on the streets?" I ask him glancing over to the window to see all the cleaning crews still working away.

He nods his head waiting for me elaborate "well this isn't going to be a quick job, we know that from the battle of New York in 2012, however some seem annoyed that its happened again" I tell him repeating what I'd hear from passing conservations.

My boss nods his head slowly "and you?" he asks.

I just shrug my shoulders "hasn't really affected me, I have to get up slightly earlier to get here on time, and I've had to forgo my morning coffee but that its" I tell him making him chuckle at my coffee comment.

"so do you like the avengers?" he asks.

I shake my head slightly "I don't really have an opinion, don't love them, but I don't hate them" I tell him.

He nods his head with a small smile and I could see the cogs working away, "fair enough, no go grab yourself a coffee from the break room" he says gesturing for me to leave.

Once I had grabbed myself a coffee I saw down at my desk and started working on my latest assignment. I was focussing so much I didn't even notice my friend approaching my desk until she tapped me on the shoulder making me jump.

"oops sorry" she laughs but I could tell she wasn't fully sorry, I pull out my headphone and turn to face her.

"yeah right, what's up?" I ask her leaning back in my chair and stretching out my back.

"word on the street is there's a big assignment up for grabs" she tells me making me raise an eyebrow in interest. A big assignment would be perfect for me, I'd been working for a promotion for what feels like forever, a big assignment might just prove that I'm worthy.

"apparently following the chaos the Avengers need some good press so want an article written on them" she tells me making my shoulders slump, I wasn't going to get that assignment I'd literally told my boss how I didn't like the Avengers.
