I sigh rubbing my head tiredly, these interviews were not going well. Some team members like tony and thor were more than happy to talk about themselves, to the point it was exhausting and there was too much information to contend with. Bruce was somewhat okay, he'd talk for a little bit but as soon as the hulk was mentioned he'd quieten down even more and it was difficult to get much more out of him. Natasha and Clint were the perfect spies, and by that I mean they wouldn't talk about anything, often saying it was confidential. Steve was a whole other problem, he arrived right on time but anyone could see he'd rather be anywhere else doing anything else. Every answer he gave was well rehearsed leaving no room for elaboration, information he gave was nothing I couldn't find in a history book. When I tried to talk about my past in an attempt to get him to open up was met with grumbled and huffs, no real words. What didn't help was my phone ringing half way through.

"you gonna get that" steve huffs in annoyance crossing his arms over his chest.

"apologies, just one moment" I sigh grabbing my phone.

I was going to tell whoever it was I was busy and I'd call back but I didn't get the chance, "(Y/N), sorry if this is a bad time but a pipe burst in the building and your apartment has been flooded" my landlord tells me.

I groan in annoyance resting my head in my hands "you're joking, what happens now?" I ask him, this was the last thing I needed right now.

He tells me that my apartment will be unliveable for the next month or so, and I'd need to find somewhere to stay. I rub my head tiredly, I glance over at steve who was sat watching with a look of indifference on his face. I put my phone down and lean back in my chair with a loud sigh.

"what's wrong" steve asks clearly uninterested.

I raise a brow "pipe broke, my apartment is flooded so I need to find somewhere to stay" I explain tiredly.

Steve nods his head slightly.

"look you can go, I need to sort all this out" I tell him grabbing my phone to make a couple calls.

"thank you" he sighs getting up and leaving.

A little while later I had a hotel booked for a few nights until I could find a more permanent place to stay.

"knock knock" I hear tony say as he opens the door to my office.

"oh hey tony, sorry now isn't a good time" I apologies "my apartment got flooded so I have to deal with that" I explain rubbing my forehead.

"oh that's not good, I wanted to ask how the interviews were going" he asks walking in and sitting down.

I shrug my shoulders "eh, not the best, nobody wants to open up which means I'm not getting to know who you guys really are" I tell him making him laugh.

"yeah I get that, look here's an idea why don't you stay here?" he asks making me look back at him confused "you can get to know what we're all like, see us a breakfast, early mornings late nights, the real us and you have somewhere nice to stay instead of a dingy hotel or a couch" he explains.

I nod my head in thought it would make it easier and much nicer than my current options, "are you sure?" I ask him making sure he wasn't making a joke or something.

"yeah of course, its no problem, I can get some people to get your clothes etc now and you'll be all moved in by tonight" tony smiles.

I sigh a big sigh in relief "thank you so much tony it means a lot thank you" I smile.

Tony waves it off "no problem, I'll give everyone a heads up" tony says heading back out.

I sit back wondering what everyone would think. Especially steve.

It was the morning after my first night at the Avenger's tower. I got myself dressed in smart but comfy clothes, I wasn't planning on doing any interviews until everything had settle down. So today I was just going to go through what I had so far and see if any of it was actually possible. I make my way out of the room and towards the communal kitchen, I had delayed breakfast as long as my stomach would allow me. Hoping that the avengers would be up early and be done with breakfast and off to whatever avenging work they did.

My hopes were dashed when I hear all of them chatting away in the kitchen, I take a quick deep breath preparing myself for the looks I was about to receive. As soon as I step into view the entire room falls silent and I feel six pairs of eyes fall onto me, 3 of which definitely weren't friendly.

"ah there she is" thor smiles poptart in hand, a few crumbs in his beard.

"you're up late, didn't sleep well?" tony asks pouring a cup of coffee and passing it to me.

"thanks, no I slept perfectly actually, I've been up for a while now I just only just got hungry" I lie hoping the growls in my stomach didn't expose my lie.

"so how long are you here?" nat asks bluntly carefully stabbing the pieces of fruit on her plate.

I glance around the room noticing how Clint sat there arms crossed waiting for my answer, and steve who just sat reading the newspaper not acknowledging my presence.

"I don't know exactly, a couple weeks maybe three" I tell them trying to ignore the huffs of annoyance.

"look I know this isn't what you guys wanted" I start crossing my arms to hopefully make myself seem bigger and more confident.

"I like having you here" thor interject smiling happily, I smile nodding over to him gratefully.

"most of you guys wanted, but all I want to do is get to know the real you, all I'll be is a fly on the wall and if you don't want me to write about something I won't write about it, you can keep whatever skeletons you have in the closet" I tell them "because honestly all people want to know is what ridiculous stuff you get up to when you aren't the avengers, nobody cares about who you were 10 years ago, they just want to know who you are now" I finish.

I glance around and notice the cold gazes were somewhat warmer, nat smirked and Clint nodded slightly. I look over at steve who'd now put down his newspaper and was now looking over at me, I couldn't read his expression as he studied me up and down.

"speaking of non-avenging stuff, movie night tonight?" tony asks grabbing the attention of the room, everyone nods in agreement.

"its sorted, (Y/N) this will be your first look into a relaxed evening with the avengers" tony smiles patting me on the shoulder as he walks out.

"if Clint doesn't steal all the popcorn that is" nat smirks making Clint punch her in the arm.

"shut up" he complains.

I couldn't help but smile to myself seeing them begin to open up, hopefully steve would soon too.
