Warnings: FLUFF!

Two months ago Chris was willing to take any job that came his way, wanting to keep himself as busy as possible. While he enjoyed breaks between projects and having time to himself he was getting a bit fed up of doing that alone.

Just over a month ago, Chris met you, a new vet at the practice that both he and Dodger took an instant shine to. Chris was nervous to ask you out but Dodger came to the rescue, trying his paw at acting giving you the opportunity to invite Chris out for a drink.

Present-day Chris was now currently pissed off at his past self for taking on as many jobs as he did because now only a month into your relationship Chris was setting off for 9 weeks to film his latest project.

He knew it was still early days in your relationship but he had fallen hard and fast. He was a hopeless romantic after all and he couldn't help but see signs that meant you were the one. Like how you met, the way Dodger fell instantly in love with you. How Dodger who was usually a bit protective over Chris and the house when it came to other dogs staying over, was completely fine with your golden retriever called Buddy.

So to Chris, it was a no-brainer when he asked if you could look after Dodger while he was away. You had been keeping him up to date on everything, sending multiple photos of the dogs playing, dodger being the perfect assistant whenever you took him into the practice, and of course all the cuddles.

The most recent photo you sent was Chris' favourite though. You were sat on the couch with Dodger sitting on your lap, his head tucked up underneath your chin. Buddy sat behind you clearly trying to get in on the cuddle action, his paws on your shoulders as he nuzzled and licked the side of your face. And you just had the widest and brightest smile on your face. Chris could practically hear your laugh as he smiled down at the photo.

Yeah, Chris loved you. Loved you so much it was terrifying. But he wouldn't tell you yet, so in the meantime, he'd settle for saving that picture as his home screen so your smile and laughter were always with him.
