Chris wasn't sure if he could feel his fingers anymore with you gripping his hand so tightly. He didn't mind though he knew you were nervous, and excited and very nervous.

It was the Grammys, the biggest night in the music industry. Your most recent album had been nominated for Album of the year, it was also your first Grammy nomination ever. You also were performing tonight, so you had a lot to be excitedly nervous for.

"You okay?" Chris whispered in your ear as you sat down in your seats.

"Yeah, I'm with you" you smile looking back over at him "thank you for coming" cupping his cheek and kissing him gently.

"Wouldn't miss it for the world" Chris smiles kissing you again.

Throughout the show you fiddled with Chris' fingers, singing and dancing along with the music. Cheering loudly whenever someone won.

Soon enough some assistants arrived to get you ready for your performance. Chris squeezed your hand reassuringly as you stood up.

"You'll smash it" he smiles earning a smile in return.

You lean down kissing him before heading off with your team. Now sat alone Chris rung his hands together anxiously waiting for you to reappear.

He didn't have to wait too long as your name was announced and Chris could see you sat at the piano. The set up was simple, just you and the piano, a single spotlight. You had changed into a different dress with a long train that floated out behind you to the floor.

Chris ran his fingers over his lips, smiling when you started playing his favourite song on your album. As you sang he recalled hearing you write the song, all the times you played it to him. Even going as far as teaching him how to play it so you could sing along with him.

His heart was bursting with pride and love for you. If he was a cartoon he'd have little heart eyes as he watched you perform, your beautiful voice washing over him.

Throughout the song you kept your sights mostly on the piano, focusing on what you were doing. But when you got to the bridge you looked out into the crowd your eyes instantly finding his. Your smile growing on your face as you sang directly to him. Chris knew there was definitely a camera on him right now but he didn't care, if he looked like a love sick fool it's because he was one.

Once the song was done you walked off the stage but instead of going backstage you walked down into the crowd. Chris stood from his seat as he saw you approach, the smile growing on his face when he saw you begin to run towards him.

You looked like a princess, a smile on your face as your dress bellowed behind you in the wind. Once you were close enough you launched himself into his arms, Chris chuckled as he held onto you tightly burying his face in the crook of your neck, kissing your shoulder. He then pulled back enough to cup your cheek.

"That was incredible, I'm so proud of you" Chris beams making you chuckle, shaking your head slightly.

"Take the goddamn compliment" Chris chuckles making you laugh.

"Okay, okay I will" you chuckle nodding your head as you lean up to kiss him.

Chris had to hold himself back from deepening the kiss. This wasn't the right place, and there was definitely a camera or phone somewhere capturing this.

"You should go, your team is waiting for you" Chris smiled nodding over your shoulder at your team who were waiting patiently.

"Okay, see you in a minute" you smile kissing him quickly before heading off with your team.

Once you returned back in your red carpet dress you instantly took hold of Chris' hand bringing it to your lips.

"I don't care how the rest of the night goes, that performance was the best moment of my life" you smile.

"Even better than the day you met me?" Chris smirks making you chuckle.

"Okay best moment of my career" you correct kissing him on the cheek.

Soon enough it was time for the final award of the night, the one you and Chris had been waiting for all night.

Album of the year.

Chris glances over at you seeing you nervously bite at your lip. He takes your hand rubbing your skin reassuringly with his thumb. He knew that even though you said you didn't care, you still would love it if you won.

The silence as they opened the envelope felt like an eternity. But when they announced the winner, calling out your name, you barely reacted.

"Oh fuck" you mutter in disbelief.

Chris chuckled, smiling at you proudly as he wrapped his arm around your shoulders pulling you closer and kissing your temple. Finally the news sunk in as everyone around you celebrated, you stood up your hands shaking as you hugged Chris tightly before hugging your producers and collaborators.

Seeing you were still shaking in shock Chris held out his arm leading you to the stage. As he sat down he watched as you received your Grammy and walked over to the mic.

"Um oh my god, sorry I really wasn't expecting this at all, so I'm gonna wing this" you say clearing your throat, the crowd chuckling.

"I have so many people to thank, my producers, collaborators, everyone who worked on this album I wouldn't be here without these amazing people" you say gesturing to your producers behind you.

"I also want to thank my fans I love you all so so much and I can't wait to see you guys screaming these songs on tour, to my family and friends thank you so much for supporting me I love you all so much" you continue before looking over at Chris a smile growing on your face.

"And the last person I need to thank is my amazing partner, the love of my life, Christopher Evans" you smile as you look over at him.

"You have been with me throughout the creation of this album, not getting too annoyed when I'd stumble to the piano at 3am and start playing the melody I dreamt of, you are the first person who heard every song, you even helped write a couple and I'm still annoyed you won't let me credit you because you'd be up here with me if you did" you chuckle, laughing along with the rest of the crowd.

"This album wouldn't exist if it wasn't for you, so thank you for showing me what love really is" you smile tearing up slightly.

You then stepped back to let your producers say a few words. You never took your eyes off him though, mouthing an 'I love you' which Chris easily returned, wiping away a few stray tears. Overwhelmed with pride and love for you, the love of his life.
