Chapter 86: KerPlunk

"Oh, oh!" Maine squirmed as RJ worked his hands on her. "A little higher love," She politely instructed when he missed an aching spot. "Gawd, keep it there!" Maine smiled in contentment. "A little harder please!"

RJ was more than happy to oblige. He knows that she has been carrying more than her share of the burden for the preparations for their wedding. All that he has contributed so far was to foot the bill and be the babysitter for their son. What does he know about color schemes and flower arrangements? "Better?"

Maine turned on her side on, her head on his chest. "A little." She drew in a breath and sighed. "I think I should have insisted on Gretna Green." Her eye caught the baby monitor on her nightstand. "How did your day go?"

"Fun! Considering that your son only peed on me once. We went to the mall after we dropped you guys off at your Auntie Terry's." He smiled sheepishly. "We got lost looking for Kidz Station. Good thing there was this woman who was kind enough to show us the direction."

Maine was quick to the draw.

"Ouch! The woman was in her fifties! I swear!" RJ captured her hands before she could more damage and pinned her beneath him. He was grinning like crazy. "I never thought I'd say this but jealousy becomes you. I love it when you're jealous. Makes me feel all the more loved."

She stared at him blankly. His logic needs tweaking. Instead of answering, she gave out an unladylike snort.

He moved off her and rearranged them on her bed. "I got you and Sebastian. What else could I wish for?" He asked as he tucked her head under his chin. "Well, there is one thing more."

She tucked his arms under her breasts and strummed the light dusting of hairs on his arms, caressing them like the strings of a guitar. "What is it?"

"I'd like a smaller version of you." He said against her hair. "I know we talked about this but I can't help but wish that we can have a daughter sooner than later," his hand settling on her lower abdomen.

Maine's hands covered his as she smiled inwardly. 'Be careful what you wish for.'

"There was this little angel at Kidz Station that our son has taken a fancy to." He couldn't control his laughter. Sebastian was really his son. "You know how he doesn't take well to strangers' right? Well, when we were there, he even shared his toys with the little girl and gave the other little baby boys the look when they were trying to get near her."

"Oh my, he is starting so young." She turned in his embrace. "If there is any consolation, at least he is a one-girl boy."

"Hey, I'm a one-woman man!"

"Yeah, right." She teased.

RJ looked at his watch. "I beg to disagree! We've been exclusively together for exactly 1 year, 7 months, 16 days, 10 hours, 24 minutes, and 32 seconds. And after our wedding, it will be forever." Fine. He sounded so cheesy; it was a wonder that he didn't cringe when those words came out of his mouth.

Maine felt giddy with his declaration. "Forever sounds like such a long time."

RJ tightened his hold on her. "With you, it is not enough."
