"Tonight's the night!" Chase announced, practically glowing with excitement as he stood at the table. "The new frozen yogurt shop is opening! Fifty-two flavors... and four of them are sugar-free." He smiled proudly, looking around for approval. Bree gave him a slow, unimpressed look but he had a comeback up his sleeve. "Oh, who are you kidding? You passed out the first time Dawn made you discover nail polish." Adam, who had just wandered in mid-conversation, immediately perked up. "I've heard of those yogurt places. They get you by charging extra for toppings." he said seriously. "So I'm bringing my own."

He unzipped his jacket to reveal an alarming number of small bags stuffed inside like he was preparing for a survival expedition. "You don't even wanna know what's in my pants." he added with a smug grin, making us all recoil. He made the mistake of slapping his pocket, making him screech. "Aah! Ooh! Hot butterscotch! Ooh!"

I leaned in slightly, narrowing my eyes. "I'm guessing butterscotch." Before anyone could move on, Donald clapped his hands sharply once, trying to regain control of the room. "Sorry, you guys are coming home straight after school. So no flavors, no froyo, no hanging with the bros, peeps, and homies." Bree slowly lifted her gaze, eyebrows rising. "'Bros, peeps, and homies'? Don't. Just... no." I tilted my head toward Donald, gesturing loosely with one hand. "What's got you so grouchy? They run out of human footstools at the rich-guy club?"

Donald immediately stiffened, jaw tightening. "Did you forget your little buddy Marcus found the lab yesterday? He could've discovered our bionic secret." "Oh!" Bree shot up from her chair so fast it scraped loudly against the floor, her hands slapping the table as she leaned forward. "Okay, so it's our fault that your million-dollar smart home system didn't stop him?" she fired back, her eyes wide and sharp, locking onto Donald like she was challenging every word. Eddy suddenly appeared, overhearing, narrowing his eyes. "Don't go there, super girl. I was getting my beauty sleep. Something you might want to look into."

All of us physically reacted at once.

"Ho-ho!"
"Ooh!"
"Good one."

"Look, it doesn't matter whose fault it was." Donald said sharply, raising his voice as he stepped into the center of the room like he was addressing a courtroom. He stopped mid-sentence and snapped his arm out, pointing directly at Leo and me. "Even though certain someone's were supposed to be watching him." I immediately scoffed and threw my hands up, palms out in defense. "I was in the bathroom." I said, tilting my head back slightly like that alone should end the conversation.

Leo shifted his stance, pivoting on his heel and turning the blame like a steering wheel. "Well, technically—" he continued, pointing at himself now as if narrating his own actions. "—someone pulled Leo away, letting Marcus roam free." Bree slowly tilted her head. "Guys... I think you're talking about each other." Donald straightened instantly, clapping once like he was closing the discussion. His voice hardened again. "Bottom line, I am keeping a tighter leash on you three."
