I was sitting on the lab console, waiting for Davenport to arrive to tell them the emergency. Speaking of the devil, Davenport walked in muttering to himself. "Okay, your mission supplies are packed, the schematics have been uploaded into Chase's chip, and your transport is on the way. Did I forget anything?" Donald asked, snapping his fingers.
"No, we'll just guess what the mission is and see how it all plays out." Bree sarcastically, said.
"All right. A particle collider is a three-mile-long underground facility where scientists—"
"Race subatomic particles at each other at light speed for energy experiments." Chase continued for him. "So cool!" He giggled. "I know!" and they wiggled their fingers together.
"There is a particle collider in Berkeley that is accelerating out of control, and your mission is to shut it down." Donald explained. "Oh ho! Awesome! I hope one of us knows how to do that." Adam muttered to his siblings.
"Okay. We have to act quickly. The scientists that operate the facility--" he moved Leo out of the way so that he can use the computer " 'scuuuuse me-- have already evacuated the control center, and if we don't shut it down in time, it will create a massive black hole that will implode the entire planet."
" Today?! No, that's not gonna work. " Leo protested. "Today is Shelly Evans' birthday, and her mom makes the best cupcakes!" "And the best chocolate cookies." I added as they looked at us weird. "I'm just sayin'. That woman doesn't skimp on the sprinkles."
"Don't worry, Leo, Dawn, you will get your cupcakes and cookies." He reassured us. "Adam, Bree and Chase have all the training they need to shut the collider down."
" I don't know, Big D. I think these guys are gonna need some... back-up!" he posed as I face-palmed. Yeah, like he's gonna let him join their mission.
"Yeah, and that's why you're gonna be back-up! " he mocked Leo's pose. "-here in the lab with me."
" Oh, he said 'backup' and you said 'backup.' Saying things twice makes it funny! Oh! Saying things twice makes it fun--" Adam laughed as Donald snapped at him to stop.
Just then, a colorful ball with like lights on it flew into the lab. A man appeared inside of it, screaming with black sunglasses and what looked like one of Pewdiepie's chair. We all screamed in fear, Bree and I hid under the counter while Adam jumped into Chase's arms.
" Nobody panic! Probably just the cable guy." he tried to assure us as the man took off his glasses.
"Come on, Big D, I just came from seven years in the future. Your time machine actually worked!" the man explained as he stood up. "It's me! Leo!" Donald was beyond shocked as he looked between the two. " Whoa! The cable guy's got the same name as you!" Adam told Leo.
"Wait. If you're really me, then you'd know the handshake I came up with in case I ever became a spy." He walked over to Old Leo.
" Requesting authentication, Double-O Leo." As they did their handshake.
