"Whoo-hoo! Yeah!" Adam cheered as they returned from yet another successful mission. "Guys, that was awesome! You just prevented the biggest oil spill in history!" Leo complimented them. "Pretty slick, huh?" Chase smirked, making me roll my eyes. "If only we could've prevented that disaster of a pun." Leo said and went back to his desk to continue writing his report.
"Hey, uh, Mr. Davenport anything you'd like to say to us, rhymes with 'good job'?" Bree asked. "The answer's in the clue." whispered Adam. " What were you guys thinking?"
"Nope. Not even close. Two more guesses." Adam smiled and for my dad to ignore him. "You completely ignored my mission plan, improvised everything, and jeopardized the entire mission."
"Yeah, but at least they got it done." I scoffed and he turned to give me a look. "Mr. Davenport, we bust our butts all the time. And all you ever do is sit around the lab making lists of things we did wrong."
" I do not just sit around making lists of...things you did wrong. " he scoffed. He locked the tablet and attempted to hide his tablet screen. "That's true. He also practices taekwondo in his tighty-whities." Leo gagged. " They are not tighty-whities. They are breathable exercise briefs." He defended himself while I tried not to gag. "Ew."
" Whatever they are, keep your swinging high kicks away from my screen!" Eddy warned, appearing on the screen. "Look, you guys got lucky this time, but without my precise planning, you are opening yourselves up for disaster. So just follow my orders." As he was about to leave the lab, Chase's words made him halt. "Well, maybe your orders aren't always right." The room went silent as he turned round slowly. " Um, excuse me?"
"He said 'Well, maybe your orders aren't--'" Adam sighed, but got cut off by Davenport.
"I heard him!" He yelled. We all glanced at each other awkwardly as he sighed furiously and left the lab. Aww, was his ego slightly hurt?
...

I got ready into a dress and made my way to the front door. As I did, I ignored my family that were arguing, something about whose mocking who. "I'm going out."
"Hey, hey. Where are you going? You're going to school not to some-" he gestured to my dress "-some party." " I know. I have a date with Marcus." I told them. "A date? Right now? During school hours ?" Chase asked me, confused and my dad nodded in agreement. "Well, I don't know Chase. He chose the time and day and I said yes because it's an opportunity to miss school."
He walked over towards me from behind the kitchen counter "Well, tell him to cancel because you are going to school, missy."
I squint my eyes at him "Dad do you want me to tell Tasha about the time you-"
