We were sitting on the circular seat in the middle of the hallway when Bree approached, her eyes glued to a paper she was holding. "Hey, did you guys know we had a study abroad program?" she asked, finally glancing up.

"Why would I go to another country to do something I don't do here?" Adam questioned, making Chase, Leo, and I point at him simultaneously, silently acknowledging he had a valid point. "Look—" Bree ignored him and held up a pamphlet about the program. "—it says you get to spend a whole semester at a high school in Australia. And guess what? I applied." Bree beamed, practically glowing with pride. "Cool! Kelly Porter went last year. She got sucker punched by a kangaroo." Leo stated, mimicking a punch, making my eyes widen, the image instantly forming in my head.

"Well, all right, I guess we're going to Australia." the older brother said with a grin, like the decision was already final. "Ooo, I'm so getting punched by a kangaroo!" I cheered, slapping a high-five into Adam's hand. "Uh, no, no, no. No way." Bree declared, quickly shutting down the idea, causing us to drop our hands. "This is my thing. I mean, I can finally be on my own. I can study, travel, make new friends..." "Mmm, I hate to be a wet blanket—" Chase interrupted her, standing up, making his way over. "—No, you don't." Leo interjected, shaking his head. He shot him a scowl before turning his attention right back to Bree. "—But Mr. Davenport is never gonna let you do this. You can't go on missions if you're halfway across the world."

"Well, sure I can. I mean, I haven't figured out all the details yet, but there's gotta be a way to make it work." She replied, hopeful she could convince our father. "Not unless these three can unlock a new ability to make up for you not being here." Leo said, pointing deliberately at Adam, Chase, and me. "Mhmm." Chase hummed in agreement, giving a slow, thoughtful nod. "I've always wanted to geo-leap." I said, unable to keep the hope out of my voice. "Maybe once I unlock it, you could actually go to Australia." "Problem solved." Chase said lightly, flashing Bree an amused smile that made it obvious he was teasing. Bree rolled her eyes and crossed her arms, but the corner of her mouth twitched like she was trying not to smile.

"Ooh! Well, maybe I can unlock an ability where I disappear and reappear somewhere else. Let me try." Adam suggested, hopping to his feet and repeating the name of the ability I'd mentioned. He stretched his arms out dramatically, squeezed his eyes shut, and started grunting. After a few seconds, he cracked one eye open. "Did it work?"

"You didn't do it long enough. Try it again, this time, more grunting." Chase said it with a teasing lilt. Adam squeezed his eyes shut again, grunting even louder, while Chase quietly waved us over to the other side so it would look like Adam had actually teleported. When the boy opened his eyes and noticed our new positions, he grinned widely.

"You did it!"

"Well done buddy!"

"Yeah!"

"Whoo!"
