Chase, Adam and I were talking amongst ourselves when Leo joined us. Out of the blue, I heard a whoosh and saw Bree standing right in front of me whilst Leo screamed like a little girl.
"Morning, boys and gal."
"Seriously, can we put a bell on her?"
" Yeah, you gotta chill on the super agility. Somebody's gonna see you using your bionics." Chase scolded.
"No one ever sees me." Bree shook her head " I mean, you didn't see me swipe your lunch money." Bree held Chase's money. He patted himself and narrowed his eyes at her " Oh, you're good!" He tried getting it back but she swiped it out of his reach.
"Hey, you!" Perry called out to Bree, pointing towards the direction of the back of the line. "How'd you get past my checkpoint? I sent you to the back of the line."
"Uh... that wasn't me." Bree lied.
" Must've been somebody else." Chase added. Adam rested his arm on my shoulder "Yeah, somebody who can't climb ceilings. Saved it!" He leaned towards us and sang the last part whilst I rolled my eyes.
" You three have an answer for everything, don't you?" She put her arms on her hips.
" I don't like to brag, but the answer to that is yes." Chase smirked and clicked his tongue making hand gestures.
"There's one thing I pride myself on..." she started.
"Your incredibly sturdy calves?" I suggested as she glared at me. " No! My instincts! And my instincts tell me that you three are trouble!"
"Well, I don't like your instincts at all, and you can tell 'em I said that."
Perry put a hand on her chin, thinking to herself as she paced in front of us "I can't put my finger on it, but ever since you arrived, strange things have been happening around here. And the only strange thing I'll tolerate is the janitor." We glanced at him, scrubbing the floor. He glanced at us back and we broke eye contact. Perry visibly cringed " I have to, he's my cousin."
" Who are they?" I questioned as two guys with ugly uniforms stormed in the school.
"Air-conditioning repairmen. They're here to check on the strange winds that have been blowing around here for months." She walked away to talk to them.
"She's talking about you! You're the mysterious wind!" Chase whispered into her ear.
" The only mysterious wind around here comes from Adam." Bree replied back. I cringed and Adam nodded in agreement.
"Just so you know, tonight is parent/teacher night. Which means tomorrow is 'you're grounded' day!" She cackled and out the corner of my eye, saw Leo's eyes widening. " So, good luck!" Laughing to herself and walked away.
