Chase, Adam, and I stood in the bustling main hallway of our school, talking amongst ourselves. We were discussing the renowned winter dance that our school hosts annually. Before you ask, no, I don't have anyone in mind to ask out yet. Well, there is one boy in my class, named Lucas, but I'm not sure about asking him, especially since I'm not even sure if I'll attend the dance.

After a while of discussing which one of them would ask out the girl of their dreams, Bree approached us, her excitement palpable. "Guys, you will never believe what just happened. Jake Chambers asked me to the winter dance! Ahh!"

"Jake Chambers!" Chase questioned, causing her to nod. "The Jake Chambers?" Chase asked yet again, this time matching her energy. "Yes!"

"Who's Jake Chambers?" Chase asked, genuinely puzzled, causing Bree to spread her arms wide in annoyance and give him an exasperated look. "The only guy who's even talked to me since people found out we were bionic." She replied, adjusting her backpack strap on her shoulder. "Apparently no one wants to date a girl who they think was unveiled at this year's auto show." She added, rolling her eyes. Chase nodded in understanding. "Yeah, I hear you. No one wants to date me either." We all laughed at his statement, since we all knew it wasn't for the same reason as Bree's. He crossed his arms and glared at us, clearly offended. "Oh really? Well, who are you going to the dance with?" he challenged Adam, whose smile quickly diminished and turned into a frown. "No one." Adam replied, in a tearful tone.

"What about you?" Chase interrogated me. Embarrassed, I glanced at my shoes and as I did, Adam started to make kissing noises and kept getting closer to my face. I pushed his chest away and began to explain myself further. "No, guys. I mean, I do have someone in mind, but I'm not sure I'm going to the stupid dance. Plus, I'm not sure if he's even interested in me. Maybe I should skip this and watch Boss Wars instead." I voiced my thoughts and shrugged nonchalantly.

Bree rushed towards me and grabbed my hands. "No, you should definitely go! Tell me, who's this special person?" she pressed. "Ugh, you're really annoying, you know that?" I replied with a smile, causing Bree to grin as I rolled my eyes and gave in. "His name is Lucas, but he's the first crush I've had since... Marcus."

At the mention of his name, my siblings fell silent until Adam spoke up. "Hey, if you really like him, we'll set you up." he said, patting my shoulder. "Really?" I asked, unsure if they were serious or not. "You're there for us whenever we need you, so we'll obviously do the same." Chase smiled, putting his arm around me.

"Aww, guys. You're the best." I smiled.

"We know." they responded in unison, making me roll my eyes playfully and I left them to go to my class.

Looks like I'm going to the Winter Dance with Lucas ...

...

After school, a terrible realization hit me: my siblings were going to be in charge of my love life. I opened the door to my house, tossed my bag onto the sofa, and headed down to the lab, only to find Chase and Bree already there. My thoughts were racing, and I interrupted their conversation. "Guys!" They turned to look at me. "What was I thinking? You're the ones who are going to set me up with Lucas. This is going to go horribly wrong!" I freaked out, pacing back and forth, feeling my hands flare up.
