Us Davenports were decorating our house with Christmas decor. Adam was making some cookies while dressed as Santa, Leo and I were looking through some boxes we had stored, filled with decorations and Donald was preparing the Christmas tree. "Donald, I just noticed the holiday card we mailed out. What happened to the family portrait we took to celebrate our first Christmas together?" Tasha asked him, handing him the picture. "Oh, I shredded those. These are way more festive." I heard him say just as Adam stood up with his tray. He held out his tray and the cookies were in different shapes like candles, angels and trees. "Who wants a Christmas cookie?" "Adam, those aren't even cooked." Leo walked towards him. "Oh, no problem." He cooked them using his heat vision. "Careful, they may be hot." He advised as they were burning, having flames on them. Bree walked in as he blew on them as we waved the fog from our faces. "Okay, who covered the entire house in blinking lights? People already think we're weird, we don't need to shine a light on it." "No, I did that. I want to make sure Santa Claus comes to our house first." Adam replied as Bree looked at him weird. "Adam, we all love Christmas, but I think you're going a little overboard." We heard banging on the door and we saw Chase all wrapped up in Christmas lights. "That, however, is spot on." I laughed at him, along with the others. "Hey! Get back up on the roof! You're ruining my display!" Adam ordered him. "You were lucky a raccoon chewed me free!" An alarm sounded from our phones. "That's an urgent mission alert. We have to get to the lab." Donald said and we made our way to the lab.
"Hello? A little help?" I heard Chase call out but we ignored him....
Chase joined us just in time as the elevator closed. "The alert is coming from Facility X, my research center in the frozen tundra." Donald explained to us as we walked into the lab. "Hey, hey, I'm the Mission Specialist. I'll handle this." Donald gestured for him to go for it as he turned around. "The alert is coming from Facility X, his research center in the frozen tundra." Leo repeated. "Wait, the tundra's near the North Pole." Adam gasped. "Santa needs our help, you wrap, you tape, I'll go hang with the elves!" He said to us, pointing to Chase and I. "Dr. Evans, are you there?" Donald asked Doctor Evans who was displayed on the screen. "Yeah, I'm here! Although there's been a major volcanic eruption nearby and we're experiencing aftershocks. I'm afraid if we don't act fast-- " I made out as the screen was fuzzy and everything was falling apart around him. The connection cutting out on him as well. " Oh, Merry Christmas to you, too, Dr. Evans. Rude." Adam scoffed. "Sorry, guys. I know the timing's not ideal." Our dad sympathized. "It's okay, Mr. Davenport. We know what we have to do." "Yep. Let's crack open some eggnog and hit it hard after the New Year. " The older brother smiled and left the lab, making us share a confused look.
...
"I can't believe you guys have to go on a mission on Christmas Eve." Leo whined as we wore our uniform and prepared our bags. "Just to be clear, I don't have to wait for them to open my presents, right?" He muttered to Donald. "Well, I'm not going to let this ruin my Christmas spirit. So, I will be wearing my Santa hat." Adam said and he opened his bag and put on his Christmas hat. "Really, Adam? A Santa hat with a mission suit?" Chase raised his brows. "Hey, what's the big deal? I'm gonna be wearing my head band." My head band consisted of two snowflakes like antennas. "Yeah, if the ladies at the bank can wear them at work, so can I!"
