"I am so glad school's over! Ms. Thistle talked for an hour in history. She's 90! I mean, should she really be wasting all that breath?" Bree asked us as we were walking down the school stairs as Adam and I shared a 'good point' look. We then saw something weird happening. The lunch ladies were scanning the students with a metal detectors and Perry holding a red bucket for people to put their phones in. "What's all this?" Chase questioned.
" Listen up, frogspawn! Security check. Put all metal objects in the bucket, then proceed to the wands for a more theral search." She explained as the student that was being metal detected left and another one took her place. "Principal Perry, what's going on?" Bree asked.

"Someone's been stealing laptops from the computer lab so I'm gonna bust the perp. Or perps." She raised an eyebrow at us, making us share a look. "Bottom line, no one leaves this school without going through those metal detectors. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to sort through your loose change and have a little heart to heart with the vending machine. " She left with her hand in the bucket.
"Guys, we cannot get wanted. Those things will go off like crazy when they detect our bionics." "Duh, Captain Obvious." I told her as Adam chuckled. "I used to love that show!" "Well, what are we going to do? She's totally going to bust us." Chase said and just as he did, Perry was behind him. "Bust you for what? What are you hiding little bo peep?" "Um, h-he's not hiding anything." Bree chuckled, nervously. "Well, he does have an unusually large birthmark on his left hip. If you stare at it long enough, it kind of looks like Justin Bieber." Adam snickered and Chase gestured for him to cut it out. "Lets go." She grabbed him by the arm as Chase tried to protest. "I-" "Empty your pockets."
"Principal Perry I really-" "-Comply Perp!" She snapped and held out the bucket and he put his phone there. "Wand him." The lunch ladies scanned him, starting from the bottom. The detector was beeping as they got to his neck, making us share a worried look not only for us but what this meant for Mr. Davenport. "Well, what do you know, we got one. Flank him girls, the little ones always put up a fight!" Perry exclaimed as the three lunch ladies surrounded him.

This is not good. Not good at all...
...

Perry was pacing in front of us, making me even more nervous. "Everyone else cleared the checkpoint hours ago. So why do you four flashbacks keep setting it off?" She snapped. "You may not have the laptops, but you're hiding something." She gasped. "Maybe another pat down from Carol and Deb will make ya talk." We saw them rearranging their gloves as they glared at us. Bree chuckled nervously. "No, No. We're good. The first one already scared me for life." We were about to leave but she stopped us. "Don't move. Nobody's going anywhere until I get to the bottom of this." She opened her flip phone and left to go to her office.

"Guys, we have got to get out of here." "Duh, Captain Obvious 2.0." I glared at the younger brother. Adam was about to open his mouth but I stopped him. "No, Adam it's not a new TV show." He shrugged and looked between the lunch ladies and us. "Relax, we just have to wait her out. There's no way Perry could actually see our bionics unless she rips our skin off."
"Have you met Carol and Deb?" Bree stressed the situation. I looked over at them and I saw them punching each other. "I'm pretty sure it's in their will house." "Great news!" She came in.
"You're letting us go?" I smiled, hoping for the best. "No!" She waved her hands and mocked me. "I made a little call over to my friend Check over at airport security and he's gonna let me borrow a X-ray machine!" she made a square with her fingers. "You have a friend at the airport? Well, ask him if he'll let pass up peanuts on the 5–10 to Denver!" Adam exclaimed. She ignored him and paced as she stood in front of Chase. "Once I get that machine it'll show me whatever it is you're hiding. Wherever it is you're hiding it." She whispered, leaning towards Chase.
