AMELIA'S POV

After a short drive, we arrived at Taylor's office, and she guided me inside. We walked down a hallway until we reached one of the exam rooms.

"Alright, sweetheart, can you go ahead and take a seat for me?" Taylor asked gently, her voice full of warmth.

I gave a nervous nod, trying to be brave, and climbed into the chair. The room smelled like mint and disinfectant, and I fidgeted in the seat, not really sure what to expect.

"Thanks, princess," Taylor said as she gave me a reassuring smile.

She pulled up a small stool and sat behind the chair, her face softening with patience. She leaned the chair back so I was lying flat, and I felt the coolness of the leather against my back. Then, she flipped a switch, and a big, bright light above the chair turned on, casting a beam directly toward my mouth. The light felt so bright, and I squinted a little, feeling a bit more nervous.

"Teffy," I asked quietly, my voice trembling a little, "Is it going to hurt?"

She leaned in closer and stroked my arm gently.

"No, honey, it's not going to hurt. I'm just going to check to make sure you don't have any sugar bugs hiding in there." Her voice was calm and soothing, making me feel a little better.

I nodded, but I still felt a little uneasy.

"Mmm, okay," I whispered.

"It's alright, princess," Taylor said softly, giving me a warm smile. "I'll be quick, I promise. It won't take long at all."

She grabbed a mask and gloves from the counter, slipping them on with practiced ease as she sat down behind the chair. The sound of the gloves snapping into place made me feel a little nervous, but I trusted her. She'd taken care of me so many times before.

"Alright, can you open your mouth nice and big for me?" she asked, her voice gentle but firm.

I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself, and slowly opened my mouth as wide as I could. Taylor immediately began checking my teeth, tapping them gently with something small. The tapping felt strange, not painful, just a little odd, and I squirmed a bit in the chair. I glanced up at Taylor, and she smiled, trying to keep me calm. She took whatever she was using out of my mouth and replaced it with something else.

"It's okay, princess," she said, noticing I had closed my mouth. "It's just a spinning toothbrush, like the one you use when you clean your teeth at home." She said

"Oh, okay," I said, feeling a little bit better now that I knew what to expect.

Taylor carefully started cleaning my teeth with the spinning toothbrush. It didn't hurt at all, but the buzzing sound made my teeth feel weird. I tried to stay still, and before I knew it, she was finished. She helped me sit back up, and I immediately wiped my lips with the back of my hand.

"See? That wasn't so bad, was it?" she asked with a warm smile.

I shook my head, my cheeks still a little pink from the nerves.

"No, it wasn't bad. Thanks, Teffy."

Taylor reached over and squeezed my hand.

"No problem, hun. I'm proud of you for being so brave."

She stood up and helped me out of the chair, gathering her things as she did.

"You ready to go home and relax?" she asked.

I nodded eagerly, happy that the appointment was over.

"Yeah," I said softly. "Let's go home."

We walked out of the office and headed back to the car. As we drove home, I couldn't help but feel relieved that everything went so smoothly. It wasn't as scary as I thought it would be, and now I felt like I could do anything.

When we got home, Taylor gave me a big hug.

"I'm so proud of you, Amelia. You did great today."

I smiled up at her, feeling warm inside.

"Thanks, Teffy. I'm glad it's over."

We spent the rest of the day together, just hanging out at home. It was nice to relax and not have to worry about anything else for a while.
