Amelia's checkup

AMELIAS POV

He stuck the thermometer in my ear making me wince due to a sore ear I've been having

"You ok" Austin asked sympathetically noticing as we waited for the beep

"Ya" I reply

The thermometer beeped making him take it out and I was relieved. He put the blood pressure cuff around my arm sticking his stethoscope underneath making it get tighter before releasing it and taking it back off again

"That was a bit high but it's probably due to your anxiety right now" Austin said as he placed the cold metal of the stethoscope on my chest making me wince

"Sorry" he said as he listened to my heart before moving into my lungs

"Deep breaths for me" he said making me oblige

He finished that putting his stethoscope back around his neck

"Can I go now" I sigh

"We just started Amelia this won't take long just bare with me a little longer" he said grabbing the otoscope and sticking it in my ear making me back away forcing it out

"You need to stay still sis, please" he sighed sticking it back in

He moved onto the other one as I was silently crying hating all of this

"Look up" he said forcing my head to the ceiling and checking my nose

He didn't care enough to notice my tears while he went and grabbed a tongue depressor

"Austin can we stop for a minute" I ask making him notice I had tears rolling down my face and becoming sympathetic

"Yeah of course, I'm sorry did I do something" he asked sympathetically as he handed me a tissue

"I think I'm just overwhelmed" I reply wiping the tears from my eyes

"Did you want me to slow down a bit am I going too fast" he asked making me nod

"Ok I'll slow it down a little can you open your mouth for me" he asked making me oblige

He checked my throat letting me close it

"Your so close to being done sis we'll check your stomach your reflexes and take some blood and you're all good" he said encouragingly

"Can we skip the blood test maybe I mean I do have to get 2 fillings today as well" I say hesitantly

"I'll be gentle Amelia it won't take long plus I don't know when I'll get you back here" he replied patting the table for me to lay down which I did

He felt my stomach before letting me sit back up and checking my reflexes. I was able to get off the table knowing the blood test was in the lab and I was happy the most of it was done

"Now do we have to do this like when you were young or you think we can do this just the two of us" Austin said

"I wasn't that bad when I was young" I sighed

"Ok so we should be ok go ahead to the lab I'll meet you in there in a minute" Austin said

I went into the lab standing over at the side not really wanting to do this. Selena came in a few minutes later with a sympathetic smile making me confused

"So your brother doesn't want to be the one to poke you because he's scared he'll miss your vein so I'm going to be the bad guy today" she said sympathetically

"Oh ok" I say kinda confused cause Austin was literally just asking me if I'd be ok with just me and him in here and that he was going to meet me in here

"Come take a seat" she said lifting the bar up and grabbing the tubes and needle from drawers

I went over nervously sitting in the chair and she pulled it down locking it in place

"God I feel like a prisoner being locked in" I say making Selena laugh

"I know it kinda feels that way, which arm are we doing" she asked

"Wait I get to choose" I ask

"I mean ya as long as I can find a vein in the arm you choose then I'll do whichever one you want" she replied

I put my right arm on the table and she tied the tourniquet on it tightly

"Ouch what hurts more the band or the needle" I say

"Sorry I know it's tight it'll come off once the needles in" she said feeling my arm

"Make a tight fist for me" she said making me oblige as she kept feeling my arm

She grabbed an alcohol wipe wiping off my arm making me realize she found a vein and close my eyes tightly not wanting to see the needle

"Your ok just keep breathing for me hun" she said softly as I felt the needle poke in my arm

"Ouch" I wince at the sharp poke

"I know I'm sorry, I'm going to have to move it a bit it may hurt a little but I'll try and be quick" she said sympathetically as she moved the needle around in my arm making me close my eyes even tighter

It stopped moving so I slowly opened my eyes and saw she was drawing blood already

"You ok" she asked

"Yeah" I reply looking over at the door where Austin was standing

"You decided to come did you" I say

"Think about sis it if I miss a vein and have to move it around or have to poke you more then once you'd hate me, if Selena misses a vein at least if you hate her it won't effect me" he said

"Hey, she doesn't hate me" Selena said untying the band off my arm and grabbing a cotton ball from the tray as the last tube was filling

She took the needle out keeping the cotton ball in place and sticking a bandaid over it. She unlocked the bar lifting it up letting me get up finally

"Thanks guys I gotta get going to Taylor's office now" I sigh not looking forward to needing 2 fillings

"Good luck sis" Austin said

I left there office walking over to Taylor's office and wasn't looking forward to it, I felt like I was actually dragging myself there
