Karlies appointment

KARLIE'S POV

"Huh what? Oh me, yeah, I'm fine" I reply hesitantly

"Karlie I know somethings going on, I noticed you tense up when I was filling Amelia's tooth too what's up, you know you can tell me anything" Taylor said

"Nothing, really it's fine" I reply

"If it's nothing I assume you wouldn't mind if we gave you a quick checkup while we're here then" she asked

"Oh um" I reply hesitantly

"I'll be quick, I just want to make sure your ok" she replied

"I don't really think that's a good idea, not very necessary either" I said nervously

"Hey girls I think I have some paperwork in the back that needs shredded do you guys want to go ahead and do that for me" she asked turning to Heather and Amelia

They both nodded before going to the back making Taylor turn back to me

"And as for you let's go get you checked out just for a piece of mind" she said sympathetically

She pretty much pulled me into an exam room and pushed me in the chair

"Taylor I really don't think this is necessary" I say nervously

"Unfortunately for you you're not getting the choice" she replied laying the chair back.

I gulped nervously as she put a mask and gloves on sitting behind the chair and grabbing the mirror and explorer

"Alright open for me" she said softly

I kinda just stared at her nervously instead of opening like she had asked

"I won't hurt you Karlie I just want to look can you please open for me, your past due for a checkup anyways" she said

I hesitantly opened my mouth and she immediately went to checking my teeth

"You do have a bit of a cavity here but it's not bad it'll be a really simple filling" she said taking the tools out of my mouth and going to the drawers

"Actually um I" I say nervously

"Karlie look I've been doing this for years, you've seen me do fillings for years it's a really simple procedure, is this your first filling" she asked making me nod

"I understand I was terrified getting my first filling too but you know what, I did it cause I knew it had to be done" she said sympathetically

"Weren't you looped up on nitrous oxide" I add

"Well ya but nitrous oxide doesn't make you cooperate or anything it just try's to calm you down" She said

"Ya I know but still" I reply hesitantly

"Because it is your first filling I do want to grab someone just to be in here so you don't grab anything" Taylor said sympathetically

"I'll be fine" I say nervously

"I'm sorry Karlie, but for our safety I feel better having an assistant in the room, hey Ella" Taylor called to the other assistant that was walking in the hall

"Yeah" Ella replied coming back into the room

"Are you busy" Taylor asked

"No not right now" she replied

"Perfect can you help me with this filling" Taylor asked

"Yeah of course" she replied coming and sitting in the stool beside me

"Ok Karlie we're going to start the numbing process I just have the q tip right now can you open for me again" Taylor said softly

I hesitantly opened my mouth and she started rubbing the gel around my tooth

"She looks extremely panicked" Ella said sympathetically

"She is it's her first cavity" Taylor replied taking the q tip out but keeping her mirror in my mouth

"I need you to try and stay still for me and not move away or try to push my hand away ok" Taylor said trying to keep the needle out of my view

I was extremely panicked and Ella kept her hands on my arms so I couldn't grab anything. Taylor poked the needle in my gums making me whimper

"It's ok your doing great" Taylor said softly

She took the needle out poking it behind the tooth as well making me struggle against there grip as it hurt a lot more. She took the needle out letting me close my mouth for a bit. Instead of talking I kinda just went silent

"You ok" Taylor asked moving her stool beside me pulling her mask down

Instead of answering I just nodded looking down at my hands

"Karlie I know your afraid but I promise I'm not going to hurt you" she said softly

"You can't promise that" I reply

"Look I'm going to be very gentle it's very simple it's still small so I won't have to drill much, it's a very easy first cavity" she said softly as she pulled her mask back up moving back behind the chair

"It's time already" I whimper nervously

"Yeah unfortunately but it's ok if you need a break just let us know and I'll stop" she said

"Ok" I reply hesitantly

"Open up for me" she said making me realize she already had the drill in her hand

I hesitantly opened my mouth and she immediately started drilling out the cavity. It was extremely uncomfortable I kept my eyes shut tightly the whole time

"You doing alright" Taylor asked taking the drill out of my mouth and swapping it for the filling

"Ya" I reply

She filled the tooth before drying it with the blue light and sitting the chair back up

"It's all done that wasn't anything to worry about now was it" she said softly

"I guess not, thanks Tay" I reply jumping out of the chair

We went and got the girls and we were all finally able to go home. It was a long day
