The Great Calamity. It was here.
Ganon had made a grand entrance, with a violent shake to the ground giving notice to everyone across Hyrule, and a swarm of black and pink malice surrounded the castle, not letting the people inside have any warning as to evacuate and escape. The whole thing just... happened.
Nearly blood red clouds circled the sky in a rush, and the sky's color deepened to follow with the arrival of the beast. The wind was picking up pace, and all of the survivors everywhere were getting as far away as possible. Leaving only so many to remain.
You held your sword tightly in your hand, your grip slowly dying alongside your will to fight this thing. You tried to drown out Zelda's whimpers and cries behind you, as your cheeks grew cold with each tear that fell down them. You had to go in without a hero. Without the power of the triforce. This was a sinister game, Demise's little set up. You were inevitably going to lose.
And sadly in this situation, winner takes all.

"_____... _____, please wake up." Revali was gently shaking you, pleads spilling out of his beak and failing to land in your drowned out ears. "_____, what's wrong?" He finally managed to bring you to consciousness, but you were still sucked into the scene of Hyrule's destruction. "Talk to me."
The event you had just witnessed in your dream had managed to bring you to such a shock you were literally speechless. The only thing you could do was quietly sob as you felt his feathers around you. He didn't know what to do, you having gone to sleep perfectly happy and waking up in the middle of the night crying and shaking next to him.
"Don't cry," He breathed, gently rubbing your back. "I'm here. Amalia and Kai are here. You have nothing to worry about." He pulled you as close to him as he could, now starting to wonder if he should be upset too. But he had no idea why you were upset.
"Revali..." You finally managed to squeak out, glossy eyes looking up at him with such a pain he felt like crying himself. "I don't want to do this..." You gripped his feathers, still trying to regulate your breathing and bring your shivering to a minimum.
"To do what? Have I done something to upset you?" He lifted you up a bit, trying to wipe some of the tears still on your face, and any new ones that followed. He was trying to make you warmer, as he thought your shaking was a result of you being really cold. But you were really quite hot already.
"I don't want to face this calamity. It's terrifying to think about." You kept yourself as close to your husband as possible, never wanting to let go. He kept you as close as he could without suffocating you.
"Don't say it, _____." Revali pressed the tip of his beak to your forehead, causing you to only squeeze him tighter. "Please don't say it." You took in a deep breath, you whole nightmare running through your head again as much as you didn't want it to.
"I'm scared." It had caught you off guard, and even expecting it, that's what it's probably going to do anyways. Revali let out a deep sigh with your words, his wings resting at their spot on your shoulders.
"Then I'm scared." He looked out the window, watching as the moon slowly rose above the horizon, illuminating the land of Hyrule just enough to see - the land you were protecting, and had to save from this dreadful Calamity. "You fall, we fall. You're one of our strongest lights, _____. And when even the strongest starts to fear, that's... that's not a good thing."
"I'm sorry." You sniffled, wrapping your arms around his neck as you looked back up at him, his now soft green eyes gazing into your own being the only thing that kept you calm. "I can't help it. I've strived to be confident and have a little belief for the last eighteen years, but it's difficult the closer we get. We have yet to find the hero, and Zelda's struggling to awaken her powers. Our two keys out of this mess are the only two things we're missing."
