Hyrule had seemed to calmed down over time. Many living on the outskirts of Hyrule had forgotten or never even known of the threat of the Calamity. Even when it was still present.

Zelda was still trapped inside the castle, holding Ganon down with the power she had hardly awakened not even hours before. You and the rest of your family had been forgotten about over time. Some even thought that the Royal Family would never return.

Most weren't sure if there was ever a royal family to begin with.

The ice surrounding you had mostly melted and cracked, but still protected you as it had always been. That was until something shattered it. You were free. And of course, with a good few seconds you were nearly drowning.

Someone pulled you mostly out of the water, your legs still in it but you were still choking for a bit. Your vision was blurry and hazy, but in front of you, you could see the castle. Surrounded by pink and black malice. And then two feet got in the way of your vision.

"H-Hello?" You looked up at the sound of a familiar voice, and saw two blue eyes looking back down at you. You took a few seconds to remember who those blue eyes belonged to.

Link.

"Link?" He tilted his head, and you were quick to notice the Sheikah Slate in his hands. As soon as you looked back at the castle and saw the glowing yellow light, everything came back to you.

You winced as a piercing pain shot through your head, as your entire life flashed through your head, all leading up to the battle with Ganon right before you slipped and fell into the water. And you started to hear a voice, but with the throbbing headache you were experiencing, you couldn't make out any words.

"A-Are you alright?" Link asked, kneeling down to look over you, and you nodded as the pain started to go away, along with the fading of the voice and faint visions. "How long have you been here?"

"I don't know..." You groaned, trying to pull yourself up but finding your strength unable to help you. Link grabbed your arms and pulled you up, and you were hardly able to stand on your legs. "You're alive."

"I guess so." Link shrugged and rubbed the back of his neck, and you looked over him. Same old Link, well, minus the champion attire, but even with him looking the same, he wasn't acting the same. If he looked exactly the same, it mustn't have been that long. "Come with me. I know somewhere you can rest and heal up a bit."

"Okay." You managed to get your legs to walk, and followed him across the Plateau and up a small hill. It almost seemed like he was going to take you to the Shrine of Resurrection. "Oh, Link, it's okay I don't need-"

"Right here!" He pointed to a small rock area, where a man was sitting by a fire with some food. "You can stay here if you need to." The man looked up at you as Link led you over, and you felt something familiar about him. But you couldn't quite figure out what it was.

"And who might this be?" The man asked as Link helped you to sit, and you shivered a bit before feeling the fire's heat beating against your skin. That felt way better.

"I found her in ice over in that lake. I have no idea how long she's been here, though." You got as close to the fire as you could without burning yourself, and started to think. Did Link remember you?

"Well, you may stay here and rest until you are well. I have food here as well." He said, and you even found something familiar about his voice. You tried to think back and see if you remembered it, but the more you thought, the more you realized.

You remembered no one in your past.

You remembered everything about your past, and you knew you had friends and a family, but everytime you tried to remember anyone it was just a blur of a person. All you knew is this man must have been someone in your past.

"Thank you," You hesitantly whispered, holding your hands out to the fire. "That's very kind of you." As you stared at the fire, you remembered something else. The scroll. You still had it with you. You tried to manipulate the fire, but you couldn't. Maybe you didn't remember how to do that either.

"I saw a shrine by the lake I found her in, so I'm going to go do that one now too. I'll be back soon." Link said, and the man gave him a firm nod. He then hurried off down the hill, leaving you alone with this familiar stranger sat across from you.

"He found you in ice, hm?" He inquired, picking a baked apple up off the ground. "How in Hyrule did you get there, if I may ask?" He took a bite of it, and that led you to go back and think of how it happened. Which led to more half faded memories of the battle before.

"I was trying to get to the castle after Link was put in the Shrine, and I slipped and fell into the water." You explained, taking a deep breath as you flipped your hands over to get the warmth all around them.

"Well if you fell into a regular pond, how did it become ice?" He asked as he handed you an apple, which you took happily, only then realizing how hungry you had been since you were freed.

"I control an ancient power, from the Elemental Scrolls. Here, I have it with me." You reached into your backpack and pulled out the scroll, but you gasped a bit when you noticed how bent out of shape it was. Little rips in the thick paper, with dampened and cracked edges. The writing on it was hardly recognizable. "No wonder."

"I heard legends of the Scroll Wielder of Old from the Calamity tales that go back to ten thousand years ago." He looked at it curiously, but not in a surprised way of any kind. "I wasn't aware we had the scrolls power to aid us during this attack as well."

"Well that's the problem. I fell into the ice before I could get to the castle to help-" You stopped yourself. Who were you going to help? More blurry memories floated through your mind as you tried your hardest to remember. "To help with... with Ganon."

"I see. And now that you are free from the ice you were frozen in, what do you intend on doing now?" You looked at your apple, and then over at the castle swarmed in malice from the beast trying to destroy it.

"I'm going to find a way to save Hyrule. I can take Link, and we can... we'll save Ganon together!" Of course! The Great Deku Tree! The Sword! "Link wields the Master Sword, so once he's ready to go I can take him to go retrieve it from the forest. We have a second chance at this."

"Well, I must inform you of this then." You looked back at him, your happiness wavering but not leaving you yet. "This young man, Link, does not seem to remember anything out of his past." And there went that plan.

"He what?" You nearly dropped your apple, and the man nodded. "But he has to remember something. He can't save Hyrule if he doesn't remember anything!"

"Well, you seem to have your memories, Scroll Wielder. Perhaps you could aid him as you seem to remember him." He suggested, and your hope lit up again before quickly diminishing.

"I only remember so much. Link is the only person I can name, I just... I know I had a family, and friends, but I don't know who anyone else is." You curled up and hugged your legs, and he nodded and looked to the castle again. "You... you seem familiar to me though. Who are you?"

"Me? Oh, I'm just a man who's been living here on the Great Plateau for some time now. My life has been rather... simple, I suppose, until I noticed Link exit the shrine." He explained as he continued to enjoy his apple, while you had hardly taken the first bite out of yours.

"How long ago did the Calamity happen?" You asked, and he had to think for a few moments as he held his apple to the fire a bit longer.

"I lost track of time quite a while back. I would be unable to even give an estimate." He chuckled a bit, but when he noticed your slight disappointment, he went quiet again. "Once you are finished with your apple, I advise you to rest. It will do you good."

"I will." You continued to eat your apple, gazing out across Hyrule at the castle. Wondering how long it had been and what you were to do about it, especially if Link remembered nothing. All you could do was hope you'd figure something out soon.
