(A number of scene changes ahead)
"Are you sure we can do this? Isn't it gonna be... ya know, dangerous?" Link carefully walked behind you, holding his sword out and ready to defend himself if a Yiga were to attack him. "Teba and Sidon didn't do this to us. I mean, sure, Sidon sent us to fight a Lynel, and you had a sudden unexpected reunion with your kids- which you spent the entire trip arguing with, if I may."
"Link, that is so not true." You sighed, leading him along the pathway into the hideout, holding your bow as you looked around. "We just had a difficult reunion, that's all. We did sort of just drop in without a warning. I know why they were having a tough time."
"After we got back from Vah Medoh you didn't say much about Revali." He said, and you stopped in your tracks, looking down at the sand beneath you. He lowered his weapon. "I was so sure you guys would tell me about him."
"...I spoke plenty about him." You continued walking through the large, deep alleyway, and Link hurried up behind you. "I told Amalia and Kai all about him, about our past and the earlier days of our relationship. I just didn't want to burden you." You took another step, but he caught your wrist. "When we return to the town tonight, I'll tell you everything you want to know."
"Okay, well, am I allowed to ask you anything now?"
"Like what?"
"What is this place? How do you seem to know your way in so good? Are we really in danger?" You looked out at the entrance, and all you could remember was the feeling of cold chains tight on your wrists, being dragged in by the Yiga leaders and led to a small room. You remembered calling out for someone. "_____?"
"I-" You could hear a twig snap, and when you swiveled around, you saw nothing but a tumbleweed go by behind you. You looked away again, at a banner on the wall. "I don't want to talk about it. We'll be fine, Link."
Suddenly, an arrow flew past you, and when you turned around, you saw a few footsoldiers perched on top of a large rock, and you grabbed and arrow of your own and drew back your bowstring.
"Shoot now!" Link called as he ran towards them with his sword, and you did as he said and released the arrow, and right as it shot one in the head, he used this chance to strike.
He managed to leap and shove them all off the rock before whacking one when he fell on it, causing it to disappear. You grabbed your claymore and rushed to help, getting a good hit on two at the same time. They both disappeared, and you let out a breath of relief. Link did the same, and you started walking again towards the entrance.
But as you got closer, the open stone door now in sight, you saw something else. A vai was laying on the ground right outside.
"Hey!" You rushed over to her, kneeling beside her to see if she was still breathing. You grabbed her hand and tried to feel her pulse, and you were overwhelmed with relief when you felt it. "Are you okay? It's okay, I'm here to save you. The hero and I are here to help you, we're-" She turned over slightly, her long red locks falling out of her face. Your eyes were met with striking yet unfamiliar green ones. "No..." You whispered, your grip loosening on her hand.
"Don't go..." She coughed, blinking slowly as she still managed to maintain eye contact with you. "It's too late..."
"L-Link?" You turned around to look back at Link, but what you saw surprised you even more. It was Link, but he looked older. Dressed a lot like... a king of Hyrule. He was looking at you with sadness in his eyes. He let out a deep sigh, and you could see Hylian guards rush in behind him. You looked back at the woman, only to find she was no longer there. You gasped and scooted backwards, staring at the spot as you took deep breaths.
