Heavy rain poured down all across Hyrule as Ganon swirled around the castle, causing chaos to happen in not only central Hyrule, but everywhere else now as well. Guardians were scattered all across Hyrule, destroying anything and everything they could find.
The Zoras were preparing their armies to go into battle alongside Vah Ruta. The Gerudo would already be heading towards the castle to protect the outside on Urbosa's orders when she got back. The Ritos were ready to fly in and empower Vah Medoh's attack when it was ready. And the Gorons were already helping to protect the land.
Every monster and guardian you saw, you obliterated, with Link and Zelda right behind you. Urbosa and Revali were with you as they had to go in the same direction, while Mipha and Daruk were already headed to their villages.
After slicing through another guardian, you thought you had done enough to clear the path for a little bit. But you were more than wrong.
More guardians came rushing through the forest, towards you and your group. Link was doing his best to defend Zelda, and you were taking on the brunt of the mechanical beasts by yourself.
"_____!" Urbosa called, snapping and electrocuting them. "Look out!" She pointed to your right, and as quickly as you looked, you were almost blasted by one that had malice covering it's body. You managed to roll out of the way in time, Revali diving in to blow it up with a ton of bomb arrows, having to swoop down more than once.
"You two should keep going!" You shouted, lifting yourself back up so you could fight off the rest. "We'll be fine! We have less distance to travel!" You slashed your sword at another one, leaping on top of it and whacking it over and over as Link quickly cut off the legs before running back away with Zelda to get the rest.
"Are you sure?" Revali said, flying over you, and you nodded and pushed some of your wet hair out of your face. "Alright, we'll wait for your signal! You can do this!" He gave you a small smile, and you gave one back with a firm nod.
"Good luck!" With the Gerudo Chief's last call, he and Urbosa were off to cross through the dueling peaks to get to Medoh and Naboris, and the three of you kept fighting as much as you could against the guardians.
With each guardian that went down, you felt yourself growing a little weaker. Every snap, every slash and every jump. But you had to keep going for Hyrule. If you couldn't fight off a few measly guardians, how were you to expect yourself to defeat Ganon?
Finally, you killed your last one and Link killed his, and with that, the three of you continued through the small forest. Any other smaller monster that came in was quickly killed by you, being the head of the group.
"L-Link!" Zelda cried as he ran through holding her wrist, not looking back as she called for him. She let out a small yelp as she fell, and you both stopped and looked back at her.
"Zelda! Are you alright?" You asked, rushing to stand behind Link, who kneeled down to look over her. Only now was it that you noticed she was crying. "Zelda?"
"I-I'm going to fail us all," She sobbed, gripping the dirt below her palms as her tears fell onto it. "Hyrule needs me and I've let everyone down." She was shaking, terrified of what was to come. "I really am just a failure!"
"Zelda," You reached out for her, but Link reached out and placed his hand on her chin, and she quickly looked up at him. For just a moment before she fell into his arms. He looked a bit surprised, but comforted her the best he could. You wanted to as well, but with the ongoing battle, you didn't know how.
"Father's probably trapped in the castle with that beast, with Janelle and everybody else." She managed to say, holding tightly onto Link. "And it's all my fault." He gently wiped her tears away, looking back at you to see if you would say anything. But no words came out of your mouth.
