(Sudden scene change ahead)
"Hey Bludo!" Link waved as the pair of you walked up the hill, and he glanced over at you before smiling. "We're back! Did Yunobo already stop by here?"
"Hey! It's the tiny travelers!" He laughed, and then he nodded. "Yunobo told me all about how you helped him, brother. Here's a reward for ya. Hylians like you need this sorta thing, right?" He handed you three fireproof elixirs, and you thanked him and put them in your bag. "Okay then. Well, I took my painkillers, so I guess it's time to meet up with Yunobo. I mean no disrespect to Daruk's legacy, but if I'm not there to give that Rudania a good walloping..."
"Daruk's legacy?" Link asked, tilting his head. Bludo gasped.
"Are ya really tellin' me ya don't know about Daruk? The Goron Champion?!" His eyes went wide, and Link shrugged, but you shook your head.
"We know who Daruk is. Actually, I believe I was a friend of his back in the day. Because, like I said, champions here," You pointed between yourself and Link, and then you looked at the Hylian to see him focused on the statue of Daruk. He seemed completely mesmerized. "Link?" You waved your hand in front of him, but got no reaction. "Hyrule to Link?"
"What's gotten into him? Hylians sure are strange." Bludo pondered as you were still trying to figure out why he was so concentrated. Finally, he gasped and blinked, and then shook his head a bit. "Anyway, Yunobo is actually a descendant of the Great Daruk. That's why the slacker can even use Daruk's Protection! He uses it to protect himself when we fire him at Rudania. That's the only way we can chase the blasted beast away. We have no choice because normal cannonballs are no good against him."
"A descendant? I don't believe I ever met any children of Daruk's..." You thought, and then you looked back to Link. "Are you alright?"
"I'm fine. I think the heat is making me a bit dizzy, is all." He rubbed his head a bit, and you patted his shoulder.
"All right, that's enough outta me. Time to go drive off Rudania!" He smiled, but then he groaned a bit. "Arrrgh... youch... owwowow..."
"Are you alright, Bludo?" You asked, and he shook his head.
"OF COURSE I'm not okay! Owww... Arghhh... I'm afraid I won't be goin' anywhere today. I hate to put you on the spot, but... can ya please go tell Yunobo that I'm gonna have to cancel for today? He should be at Eldin Bridge."
"Of course. Come on." You and Link headed off to the bridge to find Yunobo to let him know of the change of plans.
~~~~
"Yunobo? Yunobo!" You called out as you and Link climbed the rocks to reach the Bridge of Eldin. No sign of him yet, but you were getting closer. Though, you could hear calls in the distance. Calls for help. "Yunobo!!! Where are you?"
"YAAHH! HELP ME!!!" As soon as you could see the bridge, you could also see the cannon with Yunobo on it, hurled into a ball with Daruk's Protection surrounding him. Two moblins stood by, holding weapons that threatened the poor Goron youth.
"HELP US! We're gonna be trapped in here forever!" Fintin cried out, running around in circles in the room. Blaze grabbed a sledgehammer and began whacking the wall as hard as he could. "SOMEBODY HELP US!"
"There's no use in yellin', Fint!" Blaze yelled, continuing to hit the stone wall that caved in on them. "We're gonna have to break ourselves outta here!" He gave another hard slam before stopping to catch his breath. "My dad said we gotta be strong warriors that can protect ourselves!"
"But we're kids! And there's probably monsters out there waiting to EAT US! We have to get help!" Fintin climbed on top of the table and took in a deep breath. "HEEEEEELLLLPPPP!" Blaze rolled his eyes and continued his attacks on the wall, while Fintin tried to find ways to alert anyone nearby.
"Mmm, this one looks good!" Yunobo grinned as he lifted up a rock roast, and as he went in to taste test it, he heard the yells. "What? Who's there?"
"HELLLP USSS!" Fintin! He quickly set the roast down and hurried up the hill to the mine they were trapped in, and he saw the cave in immediately. "WE'RE TRAPPED!"
"Fintin! Blaze!" He called, banging on the rocks. "Are you guys okay?!"
"Yunobo!" Fintin jumped off the table and ran to the door where he heard Yunobo. "We're okay! We came to find some of the rock roast that Blaze's dad was talking about, and the front caved in on us!" He explained. "Can you help us get outta here?"
"I-I can try! Maybe I can-" He looked at the big cannon on the other side, and then back at the door. "Maybe I can use the cannon!" He ran over to it, but a loud whack from Blaze's hammer made him stop.
"Only my dad can use that cannon! You'll probably end up breakin' it!" Another whack. "Stop playin' around and get us some real help!"
"I thought you just said-"
"Why does it matter what I just said?" Blaze snapped at Fintin, who only nodded and stepped away. "Yunobo, if ya know anythin' about anythin', you'd be smart and get someone stronger to get us outta this mine!"
"I think I can work it!" He grabbed the lever, and when he pulled it, it started shaking as it turned towards the entrance. "Now, how to launch it..."
"Be careful Yunobo!" Fintin called, and Blaze dropped his hammer and started listening closer. Yunobo pushed his foot down on a pedal, and suddenly a cannon ball flew out of it. It hit the entrance, but it didn't have enough impact to destroy the wall.
"AY! A little warnin' woulda been nice!" Blaze yelled, and as Yunobo was about to call back, he heard a growl behind him. When he looked, there was moblins there. "What's takin' so long!"
"Uhhh, guys," One was about to hit him, but he was swift in rolling away in time. "There's m-monsters!"
"Here?!" Fintin yelled, pressing himself closer to the wall.
"Y-Yeah! Here!" Yunobo gulped as they got closer, and he pressed his back against the wall. One went to hit him again, and just as the sword was about to, it was blocked. "Huh- Wha-?!" Yunobo opened his eyes to see the red ball surrounding him, and he gasped. "Woah."
"Woah? Woah WHAT?!" Fintin and Blaze were listening carefully through the rocks, trying their best to figure out what was going on.
"I know what to do!" Yunobo led them to a cliff edge, and when they swung to attack him, he blocked, and with the force of their swings, they pushed themselves off and down into the lava. "Ha!" He looked back at the cannon, and then at the wall, and figured out a solution.
He put himself inside instead of a cannonball, and then threw a rock at the lever, which sent him flying off towards the rocks. He used his protection, and as soon as he hit the rocks, they all broke apart and opened the entrance once again.
"Yunobo!" Fintin lifted Yunobo out of the rubble, and then hugged him. "You saved our lives! Oh, that was so cool!"
"I guess I gotta give it to ya, brother." Blaze patted his back, and Yunobo smiled a bit while he held his head from the dizziness.
"Boys!" Yunobo's father ran up to see them, and he quickly stopped and let out a sigh of relief. "I'm so glad you three are safe! We heard that Fintin and Blaze got stuck in the mine!"
"We did, but Yunobo saved us!" Fintin proclaimed proudly, and Yunobo smiled nervously and rubbed the back of his neck. "He used Mister Bludo's cannon and launched himself at the rocks!"
"How did you manage that?" Daqen asked, kneeling down to face his son. Yunobo showed him the protection, and he gasped and then smiled. "What do ya know, you're already just like your grandfather!" He held the boy up with one hand and cheered. "Good job, Yunobo!" He looked to his friend. "Isn't he just swell?"
"I suppose the boy isn't that bad," Bludo huffed, placing one hand on Blaze's head. "But he'll need much more than a little rescue to be called a hero like Daruk." Daqen cheered for his son all the way back to Goron City, and soon after that day, the Champion and his descendants were carved into the large rock in the city as a special monument, seen as the protectors of their people.
