"Oh _____~" You opened your eyes to see Sooga, staring you down as he slowly walked towards you. As your vision settled in, you saw four monstrous beings behind him, each glowing with one of the four elements. They all started to take aim on you, and Sooga pulled his swords from their scabbards, ready to strike but then...

A loud crash woke you up, and you quickly came to your senses and sat up, nearly gasping for air. You looked to the door, realizing it was Rhoam's room you were in, and you got off the couch once you heard the commotion out in the hall.
“I’m so sorry, General Minken, I should have been watching where I was going.” A young maid was sat on the floor cleaning up the mess that had been created when she dropped her box. She wasn’t new as you had seen her around before.
“It’s quite alright, miss, don’t worry about it.” Minken and Link were helping her to clean up, and as they were getting to some of the heavier items, you rushed out to help. “Princess _____! I didn’t even know you were here.” Minken remarked as you lifted the box and handed it back to the woman, who nodded to both of you before hurrying off once again down the hall.
“I came this morning to… discuss some matters with Rhoam.” You told him, watching as Link stood up and brushed any possible dust off his armor. “Now that the Yiga Clan is down and weak, we’re starting to create a plan to go against Calamity Ganon.”
“Right.” Minken sighed, and Link could only look down at his metal boots, not saying a word. “Link, why don’t you go find your group? I must head to find out what my next mission is.”
“Yes Sir.” Link gave a nod to him, then to you before heading off to find his group of guards within the army downstairs. You turned back to the former captain next to you.
“I never knew you had a son, Minken.” You shrugged, still keeping an eye on Link until he finally disappeared when he turned to go down the flight of stairs at the end of the hallway. “He’s come far for a young knight. You must be proud.”
“Oh, I am indeed very proud of him. But I must inform you that he is not my son.” He told you, and you tilted your head a bit. “I trained his mother and father during my first year being a captain under King Jiro. Even after they went higher than my group, I remained close with the pair through their early adulthood. I even attended their wedding.”
“How old were they when they became knights under you?” You asked, and he had to think for a few seconds before he was able to answer.
“I believe they were both around the age of fifteen or sixteen. Then it was only a couple years after they were married that I received news of the birth of their son.” He brought his hands to meet behind his back, letting a deep sigh out. “It was in one of those many battles fought with the Yiga that their lives were taken in. Link was hardly past maybe toddler age.”
“I’m so sorry.” You said quietly, remembering back on all of the battles that were started in the aftermath of the last large war against them. After the main war, it was almost a solid decade before they let it go.
“He’s been growing stronger. He won’t be able to stay under me for much longer at the rate he’s going.” He looked down at his wrist, the symbol on it representing his leas in the younger piece of the armor. “It’s been a journey watching his progress.”
“Well, I’d like you to let him know that once he’s deemed skilled enough to leave your group, I’d be happy to train him myself.” His eyes went wide with your offer, noticing your small smile as you looked at the window at the end of the hall. “I see a lot of promise with him. If he likes the offer, he can come to see me.”
“I shall inform him of this, princess. Thank you.” He smiled to this, and you chuckled and nodded. “I must go speak with the king, so I suppose I’ll see you later.” He bowed to you before heading off to find Rhoam, and you gave one back. What to do now...
“_____!” Janelle came running up the stairs, and just as thought it was only her, you saw a man taller than her walk up behind her and move to the spot next to her. “Your cousin came to visit!”
“Landon!” You smiled as you hurried down the hallway, and he rushed over to hug you. You had seen him in and out of the castle every once and a while these past couple years, but before this, you hadn’t seen him for nearly a decade. “Welcome back!”
“_____! It’s good to be here!” He laughed, giving a glance to his mother before he switched back to you. “We have much to catch up on! This has been a busy last few weeks.” You laughed with him as the three of you started walking down the hall.
