"Alright, it shouldn't take us much longer to get there." You said, looking at the map, and Link and Zelda nodded. You were getting close to the base of the mountain, and riding slowly alongside the two tired teenagers. "We have a specific route we need to take."

"_____, how are you even still alert?" Link asked, yawning as he rubbed his eyes. "We left hours ago, and we've been up all morning packing." Zelda had been silent the last bit of the trip, even more tired than Link was.

"I've gotten used to getting less sleep," You waved your hand a bit, stretching out for a moment before patting your horse. "You two may be able to rest for a short while when we arrive."

"I hope so." He shrugged, loosening his grip on the reigns. Then he looked over to Zelda. "Hey Zelda," He started, and she looked over at him finally. "I spy with my little eye, something... golden!"

"Haha, very funny, hero." Zelda sneered, looking away from him and to her hand. You glanced back at Link, who looked a bit confused until she looked back at him. "You mean the triforce don't you?"

"Oh, no, I meant that big golden lynel behind us!" He smiled, and your eyes went wide when you looked back to see the large beast running towards the three of you. "Dang, I swear it didn't see us when we went by."

"You two keep going. I'll handle this." You leaped off your horse, half back flipping before landing and preparing your claymore as the lynel growled. You fell backwards as it ran over you, and your sword sliced through it's belly as it ran. You got back up, and it had to take a moment before it ran back at you, club raised above you.

"_____!!!" Zelda cried out, reaching out for you as Link made both of their horses ride a bit faster ahead. You had your shield ready to parry it, and while it took a bit of strength, you managed. Link grabbed the reigns of Zelda's horse and whipped it, causing her horse to go even faster as he jumped off of his to run in and help you.

As a few more hits went to you from the lynel, Link hurried in with his sword and slashed at the lynel, who growled in pain and went to throw a hit at Link, but he turned around, you back to back with him ready to parry the attack. As you did this, Link rolled around you and the lynel, leaping up behind the beast before landing on it's back with his sword now plunged deep into it's neck.

He fell back to his feet as the beast poofed into black and purple dust, and you both nodded to each other before hearing Zelda riding her horse back over, having finally regained control again.

"Sorry, Zel." Link rubbed the back of his neck with a nervous smile, and Zelda looked away with her arms crossed. You walked over to her, whistling for both your horse as well as Link's to come back.

"I could have helped." She huffed, and you pulled yourself back up onto your horse. "You two act like I can't fight!" She threw her arms out, and while you almost went to say something about her mind needing to be clear, you stopped yourself. It wouldn't help at all. If anything, it would make the situation worse.

"I think you're a great fighter, Zelda." Link got back on his horse and pulled the reigns to change direction back to the mountain. "We just don't want you to get hurt, y'know? Like it's one thing if we get hurt, but you-"

"You have bigger things to worry about than a lynel. You need to be calm when you do your praying at the spring." The three of you continued going, and Link agreed with you while Zelda only nodded. "I don't want to sound like Rhoam, Zelda. Trust me when I say I mean that. But sometimes, on the very rare occasion, your father is right."

"Every princess of Hyrule has had a teacher to guide them. I don't." She sighed, looking up to the stars, and especially the one that went shooting across the sky. All she wished is that the Calamity would go down. No matter what.
