"We're back!" Link beamed as he strolled to the old man, securing the Sheikah Slate back into it's spot on his hip. Meanwhile, you were trying to safely walk down the hill, still a bit dizzy from the teleportation. "We have three out of four shrines done!"

"That is good." The old man nodded, standing from his spot on the ground. "Do you know which rune you are missing?" Link looked at the slate, and then glanced back up at the man with a look of confusion visible on his face. "I apologize. That was not the correct way to word it." He cleared his throat to try again. "Which runes do you currently carry on the Sheikah Slate?"

"Let's see... There's Cryonis, the ice freezy thingy, Magnesis, the metal controlling one, and Stasis. It kind of freezes time." He pointed it all out, and you couldn't help but chuckle at the descriptions he gave everything. The old man smiled.

"Of course. The last shrine should carry what I find to be the most unique rune." He said, and Link tilted his head, hoping he would go on. "You will find out for yourselves, young ones."

"Can you tell us where it is?" He asked as you stepped up to take a look at the Sheikah Slate yourself, having taken it from him as you stopped.

"I'm afraid not. Besides, searching for it yourselves would make the adventure more... adventurous, right?" You both shrugged and nodded, and he smiled and nodded as well. "Right. Now, I must continue my hunting before it becomes too late."

"We should probably get some food too." Link suggested, and you nodded. "Come on, I bet we can find some more animals in the deeper area of the forest." He pointed out into the area where the space between the trees grew tighter, and you were a bit suspicious of it but agreed nonetheless.

"If you two are going out hunting, then I can give you some tips." The man offered, and after a little while of learning more about hunting, you both were off.

"Alright, so we have to be quiet so we don't scare it off, and-" You released your arrow, and in less than a second you could hear a boar squeal. "Woah!" Both of you rushed to it, now finding yourself in a more open area. "You're a natural! Where did you pick up stealth that good?"

"In my blood, I guess." You chuckled, amused with the surprise still lasting on his face, in his wide eyes. "Now, we have to get back, have a quick lunch and head out to the next shrine so we should probably-" The ground started shaking, and when you looked up, you saw a giant rock come out of the ground. A talus.

"W-What is that thing?!" Link gasped, and you pulled out your bow, ready to shoot it. As soon as it spotted the pair of you, and prepared to launch it's arm at you, you let your arrow fly. Right into the smaller rock on top of it. It stunned it enough for it to fall to the ground, giving you enough time to run and give it a few good whacks with your broadsword. "_____!"

"Link, get back to the camp! I can take care of this!" Link managed to get the boar and started running out of the area, but wasn't fond of the idea of leaving you alone there. He heard a loud thud, and turned back to see you dodging any hit thrown at you.

You got a few good hits on it everytime you stunned it, and you felt it was going pretty good. But the next time it aimed, it didn't aim at you. Even when you had the perfect counter prepared. It threw the rock towards the forest, and you hardly noticed Link still standing there.

You managed to find a bomb arrow in your quiver, worried it wouldn't work due to you having been in ice. You shot it at the rock, and while not full power, it did enough to blow the boulder up before it could hit Link. You rushed to try and recapture the Talus' attention, but it wouldn't pay you any attention. It only wanted Link.

"Link! Get out of here!" Link began running away again, and you chased him. Hoping to get out in time. But as you managed to get close enough to the trees, one of the boulders landed next to you, hitting the ground hard enough to throw you off your feet. You released your grip on your sword, so it landed in the grass just feet away from you.

As you tried to get up, the Talus sent another rock. It flew towards you, but was off aim enough to only land on your sword. Likely shattering the blade with the impact. You had hit your head fairly hard on the ground, so you weren't finding yourself able to walk just yet. As you tried to stand up, the Talus managed to pull another boulder out of the ground, and this one went flying right towards you.

You held your hand up, trying to get a shield from the scrolls, but you felt no power, even as the boulder was less than seconds from hitting you. You gave one last measly attempt before your head started spinning, and all you could see was the giant rock hurdling towards you right before everything went black.

"_____...?" You woke up to the feeling of a cold wet cloth pressed gently to your forehead, and you tried to open your eyes, just barely registering that you were breathing. Light filtered into your vision, but you tried to give yourself time as it was extremely bright. "Oh, thank goodness you're okay! You're feeling alright, right? Does anything hurt? Do you remember what happened?"

"Give her a moment, young man. We mustn't bombard her with questions just yet. I don't want to overwhelm her." Link nodded in agreement and continued to gently press the cloth on your forehead and cheeks. "There, there."

"What... mhh... w-what happened...?" You groaned as you finally opened your eyes a bit, reaching up for your head- a throbbing headache starting as soon as you spoke. "Did I... am I... d-did the talus... died...?" You asked, hearing a light chuckle come from the old man.

"You're alright. Just a few scratches and bruises, but nothing a little bandaging up won't help." You looked over yourself, just then realizing you were sitting in water, and you could see the extent of large brusies and scars now on your arms and legs. But then you remembered the scene.

"That boulder... it was heading straight for me, it... it took me out, that should have killed me, and-"

"Calm down, it's alright." The man silenced you, leaving you to only wonder how you could have been alive. "There was only two boulders. Neither of which appeared to have hit you directly."

"B-But there was three! One knocked me over, one broke my sword, and one hit me!" You tried to turn around, but after being met with many burning pains suddenly getting worse all over your body, you stopped yourself and winced.

"Well, your sword... it is really broken." Link lifted a small blanket off the ground next to him and set it next to you. "Here." He unwrapped it, revealing all of the broken blade pieces piled together with the hilt. "I'm sorry I couldn't save it..."

"It's fine." You sighed, picking a couple pieces up and trying to fit them back together, but you pressed your finger against a sharp piece and cut it. "Ow," You quickly dropped the shard, your fingers curling into your palm as you felt the stinging pain start.

"Be careful! Blades are sharp!" Link told you, and you and the old man only glanced over at him with raised eyebrows. "What? It's true!"

"Thanks for that fun fact, Link." You rolled your eyes as you finally opened your hand up, looking carefully over the cut. "Either way, we still have to get out and do the last shrine. We don't have forever." You tried to get out of the water, but as soon as you pushed yourself up, your arms gave out on you and forced you to slide back into the water.

"No, _____, I'll go do the shrine. You need to stay here and heal." Link told you, moving the shattered sword out of the way. "We don't know what this one will be like. There could be little 'guardian' things, like in the other ones I did. I don't want you to get more hurt."

"You could get hurt too. I want to do the shrine with you." You pleaded, resting your arms on the land near you. "Please, Link." Link only sighed and nodded, only for the man to interject and hold his hand up in between the pair of you.

"You may go tomorrow, then. You best stay here and rest so your wounds can heal a bit." You agreed, and that was the start of a long night of listening to Link and the old man talking and trying to sleep after the strange Talus event.
