“Thank you, sir.” Link bowed his head to the man that took his horse, and then hurried back to your side as you began strolling through the beach village you had found, carefully studying your map. “So what exactly are we doing here again?”
“We’re coming to meet the leader of this village to get more information on the Divine Beasts and where we’re supposed to go.” You looked around, trying to figure out exactly where your destination was, seeing markings and symbols on the map where you were but not being able to make much sense of them. Link tried to help, and seemed to do a better job than you, you so listened to his directions.
After a bit of wandering and exploring, he finally led you to a large house with a set of dark, wooden double doors, and you handed him the Sheikah Slate before giving the door a hard knock.
Quickly, they were opened by an older man, who only had to give one glance between the pair of you before he allowed you entrance. You both bowed and stepped inside, and on the other side of the room you could see a woman sitting with her nose in a book, and then you saw the large meal set out on the table in front of her. She went to set the book down, grabbing a wild berry from the plate, when she glanced up and saw you. It only took you a moment to look at her for you to gasp.
“Reese?!” You stood there shocked, your mouth agape, and the elder woman staring back at you was no different. “You’re the village leader?” She leaned forward and looked over you before a small smile curled the edges of her lips, and she chuckled.
“Fifty years it’s been since I’ve heard anything from you, and here I am, an old woman, while you don’t look a day after thirty,” She joked, and Link tilted his head while you smiled and laughed nervously. But then Reese looked a little closer at you, even having to grab her glasses. “How do you not look a day after thirty? I think there’s more than a ‘secret’ here.”
“I’m flattered, however the reason behind that is probably because I’m still thirty-one.” You told her, and she looked at Link, who smiled awkwardly. “There was a bit of a… power problem, I suppose we could call it.”
“And who is this young man here?” She asked, glancing between you and Link. “Is this Kai?”
“Kai? Who’s Kai?” You asked, and Reese raised her eyebrow and was about to say something else but silenced herself when the man that opened the door walked to her and started whispering something in her ear, and she nodded slowly as he finished before walking away.
“Never mind that, my friend. All that matters is that you’re here now. So,” She pulled out a large scroll and unrolled it, revealing a big map of Hyrule Kingdom. “You two are headed to find and save the Divine Beasts?” You nodded. “Let’s see then…” She dragged her finger along the paper, eyes narrowing as she carefully scanned it. “The closest Divine Beast to our current location would be Vah Ruta, so I recommend you head there first. Where’s your map?”
“Here.” Link passed the Sheikah Slate to you, and you handed it to her, and her eyes went wide as she looked over the item but proceeded to place marks as if she had used it before. “Are all four of them close to each other?”
“Well of course not, dear boy.” Reese laughed as she gave it back to you with new locations marked, such as other villages and even Hyrule Castle, and Link frowned a bit as his ears turned down. “There is one North of Kakariko Village, one even further North than that, one far in the West and one South of that.” Link quickly stole the slate from you to see where she placed the pinpoints, and you showed him. “You two may collect anything you need from here to complete your missions, I have already told everyone that you were coming.”
“Thank you, Reese. I appreciate your help.” You smiled and she nodded, and Link thanked her as well. “We better be on our way North, then, after some lunch and rest.”
