"Happy birthday, Link!" Minken exclaimed as he set down the cake in front of the now seventeen-year-old knight. "You are officially considered an adult hylian now!" Minken had a bright smile on his face, and Link thought for a moment before blowing out his candles.
"Thanks, Minken!" He smiled as the general rustled his hair with a chuckle. Link managed to sneak a bit of frosting on his finger while Minken wasn't looking, and barely managed to lick it off before he noticed. "Mmm, you make amazing cake!"
"Hey!" Minken's hands moved to his hips as he leaned over him, and Link only continued to laugh as he took another lick of the light blue cream.
"I'm considered an adult now, so you don't get to scold me anymore." He shrugged, a small smirk coming to his lips as he raised his arms above and behind his head. Minken let out a grunt with a small smile to follow it. "Hey, you said it, not me."
"Link!" You walked into the room, all ready to travel with your light armor and your sword and bow. "I have a little trip prepared for us if you're up to it." You raised the Master Sword, and his eyes lit up and he stood up from his chair, looking to Minken as if asking permission to go.
"Yes, Link, you can go. You're an adult now, you make your own decisions." Link thanked him and rushed to grab his helmet before joining your side as you handed him the sword. "How long do you suppose you two will be out?"
"We should most certainly be back by tomorrow morning at the latest." The general nodded to you, and with that, you and Link began your leave for the Great Plateau. "So Link," You asked once you reached the front gate of the Castle. "How does it feel to be a technical grown-up?"
"It feels great! I can finally get promoted from just being a knight, and I can do what I want and not have to be treated like a child all the time." He breathed, a wide grin on his face.
"Link, you already can't go any higher." You said, and he shot you a confused glance. "You're going straight up to champion. That's the highest you can get." You chuckled, and you could see the look of 'Oh yeah' appear on his face. "I like your determination though. You can always improve as a champion."
"How many champions are there?" He asked, studying the sword and a few of the symbols on the lower part of the blade.
"You, Daruk, Urbosa, Revali and Mipha are all Champions." You told him. "Zelda and I are considered to be leaders to you five." He nodded as you explained this to him, pursing his lips out a bit. "I'll advise you to get to know the others. They're quite the group."
"I know Daruk and Mipha!" He added cheerfully. "Daruk and I hang out like all the time and eat rock roast and stuff, and I've known Mipha since I was a little kid. We're super close." You had to laugh a bit at his excitement about the subject. "How long have you known all of them?"
"I've known Daruk and Mipha for a long time, but I was never really close to them until a few years ago when we all started working together." That one week that you were sent out to find all of the potential champions. You smiled at the memory of getting to meet each of them. "I've known Urbosa practically my whole life. She was extremely close with my sister, and we've grown to be very close as well."
"What about Revali? You're with him and awful lot." He asked, and you nearly burst out laughing. "And there's always these two little kids with him. Are they his?"
"They're ours, Link." You chuckled, and he went slightly red now realizing what you meant. "You didn't know we were married?" He shook his head. "Yeah, the sassy blue bird is my husband, nearly eight years now. Amalia and Kai are our children."
"You know he's given me a few glares since I pulled the sword. I heard him make a comment at dinner the other day." You shook your head, rolling your eyes a bit. "Is he always mad at everyone?"
