"_____, it's so hot out here! What, does Impa want us to burn to death and die?!" Link shouted, leaning against a palm tree as you finally reached the Kara Kara Bazaar. You looked back at him, rolling your eyes at his act. "We better not stay here as long as we stayed at Rito Village."
"Link, if you really think this is bad, wait until we get to Death Mountain." You chuckled to yourself as you clipped the Sheikah Slate to your hip, and then it became even more amusing when you glanced up at him and saw the horrified gape he had. "Oh, calm down. We'll have fireproof gear."
"Fireproof gear?! DEATH?!" He gasped, and you continued to laugh as you walked inside, and he only continued to ramble on, complaining more about the harshness of this journey.
"I think you're overreacting," You snorted as you grabbed a glass of water and handed it to him. "We're going to be just fine out here, so long as you don't cause me to go deaf with all your blabbing." You sat down under one of the palm trees with the shade of the large rock structure directed right there and set your bag and weapons down. "After all, I'd hate to return to Zelda and the Great Deku Tree with the news of your death from being too hot."
"Why are we stopping?" Link asked, folding his arms as he watched you unpack a few pieces of fruit from your bag. "I thought we had to get to the town."
"Since you keep complaining about the heat, I figured it best we rest here for a while until it gets cooler." You took a bite out of the banana in your hand, and then you handed him an apple. He sighed and took it before sitting next to you, and finally, he stopped his groaning.
"IT'S COLD! _____, did you know this water was cold?!" Link beamed as he dipped his arm into the large pond in the center of the area, and he then used that same arm to push his hair out of his face, running his wet and cold fingers through it.
"Oh! Does this mean you'll finally stop complaining about the heat? Thank the goddesses, I was starting to think you'd never be quiet!" You released a sigh of relief, and Link made a face at you before diving into the water. You grabbed a few of your things and followed, sitting down on the large rock he leaped off of with your feet in the water.
"You should get in! It's really nice!" Link floated on his back in the middle, smiling for the first time since you bought him his new favorite treat from Beedle back at the Gerudo Canyon Stable- honey ice pops. "How about I stay right here while you go save Naboris?"
"As much as I would love a little peace on my trip," You said as you combed through your hair while looking at your reflection in the water. "I need you to come with me. We've done Ruta and Medoh together, so we should do the same with Naboris and Rudania."
"Maybe we could stop here again after we're done...?" He swam towards you, and when you didn't answer as you pulled your hair back, he splashed you.
"Hey! I thought a minute ago you said you were sick of the desert." You brushed the water off of yourself before braiding the front pieces of your hair, and as he was about to splash you again, you kicked your foot out and sent a mini wave out to push him to the other side of the pond. "You're going to make me mess up my hair, Link."
"Well I'm sorry you're so fussy about it." He started to swim back, and you used the water to basically catapult him back to you. Though, you weren't exactly happy about the splash he caused when he fell back in. "Excuse me, but I thought your power was broken!"
"It's not broken, it's just weaker than it used to be." You finished braiding one side and moved on to the other once you tied it off. "Besides, maybe if I practice with it a little, it might get better."
"And the reason it's probably weaker is because you're an old woman." He snickered, looking down into his own reflection with a proud smile. Only to lose it when you splashed him right in the face. "Okay okay!" He huffed and folded his arms, looking away with his ears turned down. His eyes glanced up to you, and he smiled a bit. "You are a grandma though."
