For the fifth time this month, you were so close to finding out who Spider-Man was. He had posed a threat to your parents, and even though you didn't want to hurt him or anyone, your parents knew that like a bug, Spider-Man had to be squished.

"I'm sorry! I thought I had him, but he used those stupid drones that Mysterio used when faking the Elemental attacks." You tried to avoid the punishment that your parents would inflict on you.

"How could you let him go, Y/N! You're a useless idiot. We gave you these abilities and we expected you to use them!" Your father grabbed you by your collar, his grip tightening as he got angrier.

"You have one more shot, or else." Your mother forced your father to let you go, her voice filled with irritation as she tried to keep her cool.

"Yes mother." You gave in. Every time they got angry, you didn't bother fighting back, as fighting back would result in harsher consequences.

"We have this. A boy, your age was spotted at Midtown Highschool with Spider-Man's suit." Your father handed you a photo showing Peter Parker and his friend Ned, a piece of the Spider-Man suit hanging out of his bag. You had seen Peter a few times, but you never really interacted with him.

"Do NOT let us down." Your mother touched your face, a wave of purple mist enveloping you as you caved in to her control.

Over the years, you had gotten used to her powers and what effects she had over you whenever she used her powers.

Hearing her voice in your head, you spent the next 3 days pretending like everything was normal. Getting to school, you smiled at Peter as you walked past him.

After a while, you had become his friend, constantly hanging around him when the school day was in session.

"Do it." You heard your mother's voice in your head as Peter walked down the hallway, clearly heading to the bathroom.

Using you powers, you shut down the security cameras and locked every door within the vicinity.

"Oh, hey, Y/N." He spoke, smiling as you could feel the pressure that was resting on the next 10 seconds.

I'm so sorry Peter. You thought to yourself, trying to find away to get out of this horrible situation. Knowing that your parents would certainly hurt you if the plan went awry, you prepared yourself.

"Are you-" Before he could continue, you tapped the side of his head, rendering Peter unconscious.

Using your powers, you teleported out of the school with an unconscious Peter, taking him to the abandoned car garage that your parents often used for hostages. Once you had left the school, all doors unlocked and all security cameras turned on like normal.

Watching as the tied up Peter woke up, you stayed in the darkness, hoping he wouldn't ever find out who you were.

"Where the hell am I?!" He yelled, trying to talk to you.

"You're in an abandoned car garage." You used you powers to alter your voice.

"Who are you?" He asked.

"Someone who doesn't want to hurt you. I'm only doing this to impress my parents." You admitted, walking closer to him, while still hiding your identity.

You were worried. If you got any closer, he'd recognise you, and he'd probably hate you for the rest of his life, however long he had left before you or your parents would kill him.

"If you don't want to hurt me, then why am I tied up?" He asked, having a valid question.

"I had a plan. This is the only place in the entire city that hasn't got operating cameras. My parents want you dead, Spider-Man. I was going to record myself beating you until you would play dead. That way, I don't have to kill anyone, you get away with your life and my parents are happy." You proposed your plan, unsure if he'd agree.

"You know I'm Spider-Man?" He seemed worried.

"Yes. You did a really bad job of hiding your suit in your bag." You laughed.

"Look, show me who you are first, then we can go on with faking my death." Peter reasoned with you.

"If I do, you might never forgive me, Peter." You said his name, this time your voice normal.

"Y/N? You've been following me around all these months..." He looked at you shocked as you walked into light, like the Beast did in Beauty and The Beast.

"I'm so sorry Peter. I never wanted to hurt you, but my parents have control over me." Peter could see the anguish in your eyes as you made eye contact with him.

"Time to fake my death." He laughed, clearly just as eager to get this over and done with.

Setting up your phone, you untied him and waited for Peter to put on his Spider-Man suit before you pressed record.

"Let me hurt you. Don't fight back." You whispered before you unleashed all of your power onto him, trying to hold back the discomfort you felt while hurting him.

After what seemed like hours, Peter was on the floor, barely moving, breathing every couple of seconds to act like he was dead. You moved over to him, out of breath as you held his hand. You could feel a pulse, but your parents wouldn't know the difference.

"He's dead." You announced to the recording before turning it off and sending it to your mother.

"Well done, Y/N." You felt a release of happiness that your parents were tricked.

Putting your phone away, you helped Peter off the floor, his hands immediately wrapping around your body as he smiled.

"Thank you, Y/N." He hugged you tighter.

"For what, Peter?" You were confused.

"For letting me live." He pulled away.

"I suggest you stay away from the public for a while, or until my parents are dead." You laughed, moving back into the darkness, before using your powers to teleport as far away from the garage as you could.

Getting home, you sighed, watching as your parents entered your bedroom, both of them smiling.

"Well done, Y/N. You squished the spider." Your father cheered, hugging you. This was the very first time in your life that your father had shown any father-daughter affection toward you.

"Now, we can continue on with business as usual, without Spider-Man interfering." Your mother laughed, taking your father out of your room.
