A/N: ⚠️Spider-Man: No Way Home Spoiler⚠️
MJ
You walked along the footpath, a girl's hand attached to yours. Reaching the apartment complex you once lived in, you pressed the buzzer for the sticker labelled PARKER."Hello?" You could hear Peter's voice.
"It's MJ, and Belle." You spoke into the mic, hearing the gate opening.
You let Belle run in front of you, since she's been here over 100 times since she was born.
As she knocked on the door, you watched as Peter lifted Belle off the floor, kissing her cheek.
"How's my spiderling?" Peter took Belle into his apartment, letting you place her bag on the counter.
"Good! Mommy brought you and me some Mango Ice-cream!" She ran to her bag, pulling out a container with frozen ice-cream.
"Your mother always did make the best ice-cream." Peter smiled.
"Belle, can you please go to your room? Your father and I have something to talk about." You requested, watching as Belle ran into her room.
"You're still wearing your ring." Peter noticed.
"Peter, we're separated, not divorced. Legally, we're still married." You mentioned, Peter laughing.
"MJ, why are you really talking to me? You'd be halfway home by now." Peter asked, handing me a bottle of beer.
"She's been asking about...you know." You brought it up, Peter's face dropping.
"What did you say?" Peter seemed upset.
"I told her to ask you." You didn't want to lie to him.
"Why? I didn't talk about it then and I don't want to talk about it now!" Peter became defensive.
"Peter, you haven't properly grieved. You didn't go to a therapist, you refused to talk to Ned, or even me. You used my pregnancy as a distraction!" You knew this conversation wouldn't end well.
"I don't need therapy! Therapy is for people who experience abnormal amounts of trauma!" Peter spat.
"You have Peter! You lost your parents in a plane crash! You lost your Uncle Ben! You lost Tony! God, Peter. You lost May!" You got up, now angry.
"It's finally time that you finally tell our daughter about what happened 12 years ago, as well as tell her who she was named after." You held his hand.
"I-I can barely even think about it without crying. How am I supposed to calmly talk to Belle when I can't even compose myself for 10 seconds without breaking down into tears?!" Peter sat down, his head in his hands.
"What if we tell her together? I mean, I am still legally your wife, after all." You held his hand.
"And hey, I can stay over if needed? I know you'll need someone to take care of Belle while you're out fighting crime as Spider-Man." You laughed.
"Is dad ok?" Belle asked as she walked into the room.
"Dad is fine. He's just a little emotional." You smiled.
"I have the perfect answer, ice-cream." Her response made you both laugh.
"You know, Belle, remember yesterday night, when you asked me a very important question?" You served some ice-cream.
"Can you please ask that question to dad?" You sat down.
"Dad? Why is my name Maybelle Parker?" Belle asked, Peter gulping.
"Well, you see, my aunt, her name was May." Peter smiled.
"Her full name being Maybelle?" Belle smiled.
"Yep. We named you after her, because if it wasn't for her, your dad wouldn't be here right now, but he wouldn't be dead." You shot down Belle's immediate thought.
"Where is she now? Why haven't I met her?" Belle asked, making Peter upset.
"Well, sweetie, you have met her, but not in the normal way. Belle, your great-aunt May is gone, as in...no longer on this earth." You tried to break it down as much as you could.
"So, I've seen her grave?" You were shocked.
"Yes. You've seen her grave, and I think you've also seen Ben Parker's grave." You admitted.
"Who was Ben Parker?" Belle asked, confused.
"Benjamin Parker is Peter's uncle, making him your great-uncle Ben." You explained, Belle now cuddling into Peter's chest.
"But, that's only just the tip of the iceberg, because, there is still a lot of stuff that we need to tell you, specifically an event that happened 12 years ago." Peter spoke.
"You see, 12 years ago, your father's secret identity was revealed to the entire world after a massive fight in London, and your father became a target for horrible people." You held her hand as you and Peter continued to tell the story, Belle unable to stop crying by the time the story had ended.
"I-I'm so sorry dad. I wish things had turned out better." Belle hugged Peter.
"Things did turn out better, because not only did I marry your mom, but we had you." Peter hugged Belle back.
"But, if you and mom are married, than why aren't you living together?" Belle asked, confused.
"To make it simple, sometimes when a married couple, such as your mom and I, fight or argue, we need some space, which means we live separately so we can calm down. Some couples end up breaking off the marriage, but your mom and I are working things out, so there's a 95.5 percent chance that we'll end up living together and as a family again." You explained.
"A family that fights crime?" Belle suggested.
"Maybe some day." You smiled, hugging both Peter and Belle at the same time.
