When Y/N was born, she was cursed with the ability to erase her own memory when she spoke the word 'Stranger'. The only knowledge she'd have was her own name.

Since then, she has managed to erase many memories of people she once loved and hated.

When she was 10, she accidentally said the word when her parents yelled at her for going home with her best friend. This caused her to lose her parents.

When she was 13, she said the word to erase the memory of her ex-best friend who was spreading nasty rumours about her.

When she was 14, she was adopted by Tony Stark and Pepper Potts, who loved her.

From the moment she started her second last year of high-school, she vowed never to say the word, as she had met her best friend and the love of her life, Peter Parker. Of course, she knew about him being Spider-Man and she didn't want to lose that knowledge, ever.

Unfortunately, her vow never to say the word was slowly vanishing.

Y/N
"Peter, I cannot sit here and watch you talk to her knowing that she has a massive crush on you!" You yelled, putting your sweater on.

"She DOESN'T have a crush on me. We're just very good friends." Peter was very badly justifying his actions.

"Liz Allen isn't just your friend. She has had a crush on you since you asked me to Prom last year. I know it, but most importantly...you know it." You were upset and not in the mood for Peter to be justifying his actions.

"Y/N, listen to me. Liz is just a friend and has been just a friend since we met. You're the only girl I have ever loved." Peter kissed your cheek.

"Well it doesn't feel like I am. I have a lot of evidence to show that maybe you like her more than you're telling me." You picked up your bag, feeling the tears welling up in your eyes.

"Y/N, please wait. Don't leave." Peter grabbed your arm, your eyes letting tears slip as you tried to go.

"Str-" You began to say the word, Peter's eyes widening as he covered your mouth.

"Don't say that word. I can't lose you." Peter was now crying, trying to hug me.

"Let...me...go." You sobbed, barely looking at him. Doing what you asked, you were let go, allowing you to take your bag and leave.

Getting away from Peter, you spent the day walking around New York, watching the sights and looking at activities that other residents were participating in.

You'd been thinking. You and Peter had been fighting a lot. Whether about Liz or about other things, you and Peter were always a each other's throats. As much as you once loved him, the idea of saying the word to erase your memories had stuck in your head.

Every day, saying the word became easier to think about. Although you had begun to say the word before Peter stopped you, you wanted to say the word and end the nightmare. You wanted to end the nightmare that forced you to pretend that Peter still loved you.

He claimed every day that he loved you, yet you couldn't feel it. You felt like he was just telling you he loved you so the fight would end or so that he could feel better about not hurting you.

You no longer loved Peter. You once did, but Peter's double life caused him to sometimes forget that you were the girl he was meant to kiss or meant to love.

3 days ago, you were heading to New York's best coffee shop. You needed a coffee fill and you knew that Peter would appreciate you buying him one. As you walked in, you tried not to freak out.

"Are you sure Y/N won't notice?" Liz sat opposite Peter, her eyes glued to him.

"She won't. We've been fighting a lot lately and I don't think she likes seeing me." Peter held her hand, smiling.

"Soon, you and I will have each other." Liz leaned across the table and kissed him.

Ever since then, you confronted Peter. You told him what you saw and he tried to defend himself.

His excuses ranged from "are you sure you saw me with Liz? Maybe you saw some other brunette boy." and "Liz and I were just getting a harmless coffee. We ran into each other and started talking."

Of course, as his excuses and lies started appearing, your tolerance for him started vanishing.

Heading back to the shared apartment, you grabbed a suitcase and started packing. Like every other day, Peter asked you questions which lead to you and him fighting.

"You're getting upset and angry over nothing, Y/N!" Peter yelled.

"Yeah, maybe I am, but your lies and excuses are getting really ridiculous!" You yelled back.

"I wish I never met you..." You heard Peter whisper.

Realising what he had said, his eyes widened as he looked up at you. Knowing that he had regretted his choice of words and that he probably meant what he said, you said the word you vowed never to say before he could stop you.

"Stranger." You spoke, feeling your memories wash away like dirt in a washing machine.

"Sorry, do I know you?" You spoke, looking at the strange man standing opposite you.

"No, we don't know each other." He looked oddly disappointed, like he did know you, but he was upset.

"Ok." You saw that there was a suitcase with your name written on it, so you grabbed it and walked out of the apartment, feeling weird.
