Shape-shifting for many people is a gift. They can get whatever they want just by shape-shifting into another person. For others, shape-shifting is a curse, because bad things can happen when one person has such a dangerous gift. For you, it's definitely a gift.

You have been friends with Peter Parker (aka Penis Parker, by Flash) for years. He is Midtown High-school's resident nerd. He is a Math and Science genius and he gets bullied a lot by those around him.

You have had a crush on him for a while. Since you first met him 3 years ago, actually. But, there is only one problem. He's in love with/dating MJ, but she is also your best friend.

They started dating after you and your Science class came back from a very terrifying yet action packed trip to Europe. MJ and Peter bonded and confessed their love for each other, leaving you to pine after someone who will never love you back.

Feeling alone and unable to move on, you started using your repressed powers for your own personal gain. Yes, you understood that bad consequences would ensue, but you didn't care.

You started using your ability to shape-shift as a way to get closer to Peter.

How did you do this? You shape-shifted into MJ, so you could be the centre of his attention whenever MJ wasn't around.

Did Peter know about this? No.

In reality, no one knew about this, because if people knew, they'd judge you. Your motivations for shape-shifting into MJ would be seen as crazy. You were in love with Peter, but he was with someone else. If he wouldn't fall in love with you as yourself, then you'd experience the love you so desperately wanted as the person he loves.

Your shape-shifting habits haven't been suspected by anyone...until today.

(Present)
You sat in your room, your phone on your bed as you did your hair. You had a date with Peter. Not as yourself, but as MJ. You were braiding the top half of your head. You smiled, seeing that you looked prettier than normal. As you got ready for the date with Peter, you heard a knock at your door. Thinking it would be Peter, you opened it, but you were shocked to see Tony.

"You shouldn't be in here, MJ. This is Y/N's room." Tony spoke, freaking you out. You were unsure if he knew you were actually Y/N.

"Sorry, Mr Stark. Y/N let me borrow her lipstick, but I couldn't find it." You admitted, hoping to leave the room without any questions.

"Are you sure? Because, Y/N never lets anyone borrow her things. As her best friend, you should know that." Tony spoke, my eyes unable to meet his gaze.

"I-I-Uh-" You stuttered, trying not to seem more suspicious than you already did.

"Y/N, stop shape-shifting into MJ so you can be with Peter. It's creepy." Tony spoke, your heart dropping.

"Worth a shot!" You answered, changing back into yourself, Tony rolling his eyes.

"Be honest with me, how long have you been creepily shape-shifting into MJ?" Tony asked.

"After our class trip to Europe a year ago." You admitted, feeling ashamed.

"A year ago? That's insane Y/N. Does Peter know?" Tony asked.

"No! And you're not going to tell him. If he ever finds out, he'll never speak to me again. I can't lose him." You tried to convince Tony.

"If he finds out, and you lose him, that's your fault Y/N. But can you at least tell me why you've been doing this?" Tony asked.

"I've known Peter for 3 years. I've had a crush on him for 3 years. Watching as he developed feelings for MJ and then told her how he felt, I was devastated. It hurt me more when MJ reciprocated his feelings. I love Peter and watching him date my best friend is hard. I love someone who will never love me back. I want someone I can't have. If he would never see me as more than a friend or love me like I love him, then I would shape-shift into the person he loves the most. You know what they say. Love makes you crazy." You admitted before you felt a pair of arms wrap around your body, hugging you.

"Y/N, I know how you feel. I used to do stupid things to be with Pepper before we were together. But, you need to promise me that you won't continue to shape-shift into MJ so you can be with Peter. It's creepy and it's weird." Tony pulled away.

"I promise I won't anymore." You felt relieved that someone finally knew about what you had been doing.

PETER
I wanted to surprise MJ by stopping by Y/N's room to pick her up, knowing that she'd be hanging out with Y/N. I walked up to Y/N's door, dressed in my best shirt and pants. Bringing my hand up to knock on the door, I stopped when I heard two voices. Male and female. The female voice was Y/N.

"No! And you're not going to tell him. If he ever finds out, he'll never speak to me again. I can't lose him." I heard Y/N speak. Who was she talking about?

"If he finds out, and you lose him, that's your fault Y/N. But can you at least tell me why you've been doing this?" I listened closer, figuring out that the second voice was Tony.

"I've known Peter for 3 years. I've had a crush on him for 3 years. Watching as he developed feelings for MJ and then told her how he felt, I was devastated. It hurt me more when MJ reciprocated his feelings. I love Peter and watching him date my best friend is hard. I love someone who will never love me back. I want someone I can't have. Y/N admitted, my heart dropping. Y/N loves me? How did I never notice?

"I promise I won't anymore." Y/N promised. I quickly moved away from the door, finding a place to hide and think about what I had just heard.
