Y/N
The idea of being home alone scared you. You had watched many home invasion movies and the idea of having to defend yourself alone was terrifying. So, to ease your fear, you asked your boyfriend Tom to get security cameras installed.

The cameras were operational all day every day. There were motion sensors all around the house, so the moment they were activated, you got a message. Most times it's just Tom coming home early in the morning or your parents dropping off your niece and nephew.

You sat on the couch, receiving a message from Tom.

Tom: Hey babe. Shooting is going a little over time. I'll drop Zendaya off at her hotel before coming home. I should be home around 6:25 am.

You: No worries. Just call me when you're nearly home.

Going about your nightly routine at 8 pm, you expected to be in bed by 9, but unfortunately, it was way past 10 pm when you closed your eyes. Being a light sleeper, you could get a few hours of sleep, even the slightest light would wake you up.

Seeing the very dim light of your phone, you rolled over to your left side, lifting your phone off it's charger. Seeing the notification, you sat up, confused. You noticed that it was only 2:45 am, so Tom wouldn't be home yet, and even if he was on his way home earlier than expected, he'd call or send a text

The notification itself made your heart drop.

Motion detected in backyard

Running to the window opposite the bedroom door, you panicked when the back light was indeed on.

As of this moment, you were glad that each and every door in your double-storey house was quiet and didn't squeak, as this allowed you to get out of your bedroom and to the top of the stairs. You could hear noises downstairs. Someone was definitely inside the house. You couldn't tell if it was more than one person, but you were definitely scared and hoping they wouldn't know you weren't there.

Being thankful that the upstairs floor was carpeted, you walked as fast as you could back to the bedroom, grabbing your phone.

You: Tom. There's someone in the house. They activated the motion sensors. I don't think they know I'm here yet.

You: Please call me as soon as you get this!

You waited for 10 minutes. As each minute passed, you worried more when he didn't reply, or even get your message. You checked the message, seeing that the internet was down.

"Shit." You panicked, seeing that the message hadn't been delivered before the internet was cut.

Figuring that the WIFI was still active, you dialled 911.

911: 911, what's your emergency?

You: H-Hi. My name is Y/N. I-I need the police...

911: Hi, Y/N. What's happening?

You: S-Someone broke into-

Before you could continue, the WIFI cut out, leaving you unable to continue the call.

"Shit!" You panicked more.

Making your way down the stairs, you could see a figure in black clothing, their back toward you.

Grabbing a kitchen knife, you hoped that the figure wouldn't turn around, and if they did, you could hide behind the bench quickly. You didn't want to hurt the figure, you wanted to scare them. The closer you got to them, the faster your heart raced.

Turning off the light, you were worried. You were now in the dark, but you knew the layout of your house off by heart.

Remembering where exactly the figure was standing, you inched your way closer, unfortunately not getting close enough before someone wrapped their arms around you, preventing you from scaring anyone off.

"Get off me!" You yelled, trying to fight your way out of this situation. Not being able to see anyone or anything made this fight harder, but you were determined to get out of the house.

Feeling a sharp pain in your shoulder, you dropped down to the floor, feeling something running down your arm and torso. Moving your hand, up to where the pain was strongest, you felt a liquid. Unable to see because the lights were off, you assumed that the liquid was blood and that you had most likely been stabbed or punctured by something sharp.

Yelling out in pain, you felt a slight relief when you saw blue and red lights flashing outside. Hearing footsteps, you could hear two doors. One opened and shut a few seconds before the other.

"We have an injured woman in here!" You heard an officer yell as the lights were turned on.

Being lifted onto a stretcher, you could feel your consciousness drifting in and out, meaning that if you weren't careful, you would pass out.

TOM
Being at work, I wasn't able to get to my phone until I was on break. It was 3:30 am, which meant that even though it was really early in the morning, I still had a few hours left of shooting. Zendaya and Jacob were trying to keep me from falling asleep. When I finally had a really early breakfast, which included a tea and a breakfast burrito, I picked up my phone, almost crying when I saw a text from Y/N, that I missed.

You: Tom. There's someone in the house. They activated the motion sensors. I don't think they know I'm here yet.

"I need to go. Someone has broken into my house." I informed Zendaya before rushing to my car and heading home, hoping that she hadn't been seriously hurt. Driving as legally as I could, I got to the driveway, panicking and almost breaking down when I saw two police cars and an ambulance in the driveway, three cops trying to talk to someone on a stretcher.

"Y/N! Y/N!" I screamed, rushing over to her. She was being put into the ambulance.

"Sir, unless you're related to her, you'll have to meet her at the hospital." The cop pushed me away.

"I'm her boyfriend. Please." I begged, thanking the cop when I hopped into the back of the ambulance, seeing Y/N trying to stay conscious.

"Y/N. I'm here. I'm right here." I held her hand, feeling her hand barely squeeze mine.

"Tom..." She spoke before closing her eyes. I could see that she was still breathing and was still trying to talk, but her eyes were closed, scaring me.
