Y/N
Tom had been your best friend for 15 years. When he met, started dating and proposed to Zendaya, you felt bittersweet.

On one hand, the idea of Tom finding his soulmate made you happy. He had found someone who brought out the best in him. Someone who didn't care about his flaws.

On the other hand, seeing him and Zendaya so happy together made you feel sad. You had a crush on Tom, and the crush has lasted 10 years. You liked him so much, that you'd often just sit with him in his dressing-room during filming so he wouldn't get bored.

Being a famous singer, you were asked by Zendaya to sing both at her wedding, and her and Tom's combined bachelor/bachelorette party. You accepted, not wanting to let your friends down.

You had a song in mind, a song that had a hidden meaning behind it. Zendaya wanted it to be a surprise, so you didn't say anything to anyone about the song.

The party had started. Zendaya was in a sparkling silver outfit with her hair in braids. Tom was in a nice black and white suit, a black vest buttoned up on his torso. He and Zendaya had been sitting on a special red couch, his hand wrapped around her waist as she kissed him.

"Y/N, it's your time." Jacob smiled as you walked to the stage, gripping the mic.

"Maybe I don't wanna know...the way home. Taking on a journey, I've got places to go." You began to sing.

You hoped that no one knew the hidden message behind the words.

"Wanna chase a miracle? It's possible. You just gotta open the door." You continued.

You hoped that no one would realise that you were singing this song not about the love between Zendaya and Tom, but the love you had for Tom.

"Darling, it's cold out there. Don't fear the road, just come along with me." You sang, pouring your heart and soul into singing the song.

Every time you closed your eyes, you imagined a life where Tom and Zendaya had never started dating. You imagined a life where Tom would have dated you, and proposed to you. But you knew it would never happen.

"You're not alone out there. Let's write a song, make up the melody." You opened your eyes to a spotlight.

"If you're looking for me baby, you know you can find me, following the sun." You sung the chorus, seeing everyone swaying along to the song.

"Somewhere running up my heartbeat, I don't look behind me, following the sun." You continued to sing.

After a few more minutes, the song was over, and you stopped singing. A tear was spilling from Zendaya's eye as she walked up to you.

"Thank you so much, Y/N. That was such a beautiful song." She hugged you. If only she knew. You smiled, letting go. Tom thanked you for the beautiful song.

Going to the bathroom, one of your friends followed you.

"That was a very nice song. Does Tom know that you sung it to him, and not both of them?" Mikayla asked as she applied her lipstick.

"I-I don't know what you're talking about." You were scared. You knew that Mikayla was right.

"Oh, don't bullshit me. I can read between the lines. Unlike Tom and Zendaya, I could tell that you chose that song purposefully. You were never singing it to celebrate Tom and Zendaya. You were singing it as a call to Tom. You love him. You always have and you always will." You sighed as Mikayla smiled.

"So what if I do? So what if I didn't sing it to celebrate Tom and Zendaya? It doesn't matter now. Tom has found his soulmate. He and Zendaya are a few weeks away from getting married. My love for Tom will never end, but what can I really do about that? I can't confess my feelings for him? That'll fuck the relationship up between him, me and Zendaya and I don't want to do that. If I want to keep my feelings for Tom repressed, then I will. That song was my only way to tell him, without actually telling him. Tom's marrying someone else and I've already accepted that." You hissed before leaving the bathroom.
