Nikki Holland has tried her best to be a good mother figure for Y/N, yet Y/N hates her.

Y/N
Okay, hold on. 'Hate' is a strong word. In your opinion, you don't hate her, you dislike her.

You see, you're 16. When you were 13 years old, your mother died of a heart condition that she had been plagued with for 10 years. After you turned 14, your father remarried. He married a woman named Nikki Holland, who at the time, already had 4 boys. She had Tom Holland, who was already within the acting business. She had twins Sam and Harry, who, like their older brother, had tried to become actors. Last, she had Paddy, who was also an actor. There is 8 years between Tom and Paddy. So, when you and Tom were 14, Paddy was already 6.

For some reason, you and Nikki never seemed to get along. You understood that she was only trying to be a good mother figure, but you almost felt as if she was trying to replace your mother, trying to make you forget that you had a biological mother.

When you first moved into their 2 storey house, you had your own room. While, this was nice, the way Nikki reacted when you gave your honest opinion was not so nice.

"Y/N, this is your room." Nikki opened your bedroom door, guiding you in. You looked around at the light blue walls, the pictures of nature and a bed with thin, see-through curtains. You didn't mind this, but it wasn't what you liked.

"This is great and all, but I'd much rather prefer red walls, and movie posters. The bed is nice, but I'd just like a normal wooden bed." You smiled. Nikki's smile seemed to drop slightly, before she smiled again.

"I know that you'd like those things, but I think that this room is much more...you. Besides, red walls will give your room a darker vibe, and darker vibes aren't nice." She patted your shoulder. You were slightly offended by this. Red was your favourite colour. You loved movies and pop culture, rather than nature. A wooden bed is more old and rustic, and you didn't like the thin see-through curtains. Most of these traits you picked up from your mother, who loved to sit down and watch a movie every Saturday night.

(Present)
Ever since, you haven't been so kind to Nikki. She was trying to change you. When you asked for a journal with a red and white cover, she bought you a journal, but it was a light green colour.

Everyone else noticed your change in behaviour. Your father, who wasn't around a lot, actually sat you down and asked for your opinion on Nikki, and when you spoke your mind, you could tell that he wasn't happy.

School and all things related to school weren't any different. Your mother would often let you walk home after school, 'cause she knew that school and people inside school would often trigger your anxiety, and walking home would calm you down. Unfortunately, Nikki hardly ever let you walk home, insisting that someone would try to kidnap you.

Most nights, Nikki wouldn't be home from work until 9 pm, allowing you to go home, do your chores, then hang out with friends until 8:30 pm, so you could be home in time to get some homework done before Nikki would get home.

GENERAL
Tonight was different. Y/N had no idea that Nikki had left work at 8:15 pm, allowing her to be home half an hour early. When she got home, she was scared when she couldn't find Y/N up in her room doing homework. So, she waited. She waited until 8:30 pm. When Y/N saw her sitting at the kitchen bench, she tried to get past the doorway and up the stairs, but she was stopped. Nikki had seen her.

"Where were you? It's 8:30 pm. You know that right?" She asked, crossing her arms.

"Yes. I know what time it is. I was out with friends." Y/N spoke. By this time, Tom had attempted to come downstairs, but stopped at the top, when he could hear his mom and Y/N talking.

"Did you complete your chores?" You nodded as Nikki smiled.

"Did you complete your homework?" She asked. You shook your head, Nikki's smile dropping.

"Y/N. Homework comes before friends. Everyone know this." Nikki spoke. Y/N rolled her eyes.

"I'm sorry Nikki. But sometimes I need to relax and be with my friends before I tackle my homework." Y/N explained.

"Not in this house. In this house, you finish your chores, you finish your homework, and with either permission from me or your father, then you can go out and hang with friends. It's not the other way around." Nikki was stern with Y/N.

"You are not my mother Nikki! My real mother understood that I have trouble with work, so sometimes I need to relax and hang out with friends before I can concentrate." Y/N was becoming angry. Nikki didn't know a single thing about Y/N personally, because she just assumed that Y/N would be responsible and put her school work above her friends.

"I am trying to teach you a valuable lesson here, Y/N. Every night for the next month, you will send me a picture of you doing your homework BEFORE you ask for my permission to hang out with your friends. Understand me?" She stood up.

"You know NOTHING about me personally Nikki. So no. If I want to relax with my friends before I come home and do my homework, then you won't stop me. Stop trying to change me. Stop trying to replace my mother. Stop trying to turn me into the perfect daughter. I do things differently, so deal with it." Y/N snapped before running up to her room, locking her door. Nikki clearly didn't like this, as she continuously knocked on Y/N's door, demanding to talk to her.

"Sorry Nikki. I'm busy doing my HOMEWORK!" Y/N before putting her headphones on, trying to drown out the sound of Nikki's fists banging on her bedroom door.
