Y/N
You wanted to graduate. You wanted to be done with school, and in turn, you wanted to be done with a certain boy.

A week before Homecoming, you were asked by your best friend Peter Parker if you wanted to go with him. You accepted, hoping to reveal that you had a crush on him. However at Homecoming, Peter disappeared an hour after you both arrived. You didn't even get a chance to dance with him before he disappeared. Calling Happy, you got a ride home, unable to hide the tears that Peter had caused.

You expected Peter to call you, text you or even email you. You wanted an apology, but it never came. When you got to the Avengers Compound, you dodged questions from Steve, Nat and even Thor, but when it came to your father, you couldn't escape him.

"Hey, why are you home so early? Homecoming doesn't end for another 3 hours." Your dad frowned, holding you.

"Homecoming isn't really Homecoming when you no longer have a date." You sighed before explaining the night to him. He sat back, sighing.

"You know what, I'm going to bed. I'm tired." You got up, running to your room.

The morning came faster than you wanted. When you woke up, you checked your phone, seeing messages and missed calls from everyone but the person you wanted to hear from.

Getting out of bed, you prepared breakfast. Keeping your mind off last night was the only thing preventing you from breaking down into tears. Seeing your dad walk into the kitchen, you smiled.

"What are we doing for dinner?" You asked, smiling.

"We're going to be eating a nice meal here. But, we will have a guest." You looked at him confused.

"Who's the guest?" You asked.

"Peter." He sighed, causing you to groan.

"Why?" You were very angry with your dad.

"I had a talk with him, considering he's my intern. I want you to give him another chance." He took a sip of your coffee.

"Dad, don't you think that's my choice? I mean, I'm the person he took to Homecoming before he ditched me. He didn't even try to contact me." You hissed, sipping your coffee.

"I guess so. But at least give him a chance to explain." You dad hugged you.

"Fine. But don't expect me to be full of respect and kindness." You smirked.

Getting through the day was tough, especially when you remembered that tonight, you'd have to sit at the dinner table across from Peter.

When the evening came, you begrudgingly got dressed into a nice pair of ripped jeans and a cute top, wishing that you wouldn't have to see Peter.

"That's it, Y/N. Make Peter wish he never ditched you at Homecoming." Nat smiled as she styled your hair, Bucky walking past.

"Nice outfit, Y/N." Bucky complemented you before Steve directed his attention away from your bedroom.

Standing up, you walked out to the kitchen, seeing your dad in a casual suit. It was probably his most casual outfit in his closet. As you stood in the kitchen, your dad drinking his coffee, you saw Steve walking Peter further into the Compound.

"Hi Y/N." He smiled, waving.

"Peter." You looked away from him.

"Let's eat." Your dad smiled, directing you and Peter to the table. As dinner was served, you avoided Peter's gaze, focusing on your food.

"So, Y/N. About Homecoming..." Peter spoke. You didn't want to talk. You wanted to get your food eaten.

"Oh, now you want to talk?" You mumbled.

"I'm sorry for ditching you at Homecoming and I'm also sorry for not talking to you. There was a lot going on." Peter explained.

"I'm not only mad that you ditched me, but I'm also mad that you didn't even say anything to me. I wouldn't have even cared if you gave me some shitty excuse." You were getting upset.

"I'm sorry. I tried to contact you...but I may or may not have broken my phone." He smiled.

"That's funny. MJ said that she was texting you last night." You scoffed, taking your nearly empty plate to the kitchen sink.

"Y/N, I'm sorry for ditching you. I promise that I didn't want to." He tried to apologise.

"Can you at least tell me why?" You asked, wanting a legitimate reason.

"I-I...I can't." He sighed, looking defeated.

"Great, well, I sure hope you enjoyed the meal 'cause I sure didn't." You laughed, leaving Peter in the kitchen while you walked off to your room.
