"What?"

"She just texted me."

"What did she say?"

"Are you free?' What should I say?"

"Uh... 'Sure?"

"Okay."

Chaewon watched as Y/n hesitantly typed on his phone. Curious, the radish girl scooted next to her superior.

Y/n scratched his head, "I didn't expect her to text me..."

"Me neither."

"What would she want to talk about?"

"Getting me back? I don't know."

"Do you want to go back?"

"Not really..."

"You don't?"

Chaewon's eyes widened as she realized what she had just said.

"I-I mean, it'll just complicate things if we try to change how things are right now."

"You're right. Oh- She wants to call."

"Put it on speaker."

"Okay."

Y/n answered the incoming call, switching the audio mode to speaker as instructed.

"Hello?"

"This is Y/n, right?"

"Yeah."

"Can we meet up?"

"I can't leave the house right now."

Chaewon's gaze switched from Y/n's phone to the boy.

He just lied without hesitation...

"Oh... Is that so? Are you free anytime soon?"

"Not that I know of. I have a date tomorrow, and then I have a project I need to work on for the rest of the week."

"What about the weekend?"

"My family wants to do something with Chaewon and I."

"Chaewon?' You dropped the honorifics?"

"She's my maid."

"I see..."

"I'm sorry that I can't meet up with you. You called at the worst time possible."

"When would you be free?"

"I'm not sure. I'm not aware of my schedule after this weekend."

"Alright. Can you get back to me when you find out?"

"Yeah."

"Thank you."

"Mhm. Is there anything else you wanted to talk about?"

"Yeah, what do you two do while you're at home?"

"Nothing. She's my maid."

"Nothing? Is your relationship purely professional?"

"Yeah."

"It didn't seem as professional when you two were at the night market."

"I wanted her to have more fun, so I asked her to drop the maid thing and just go as my friend."

Chaewon sat baffled by Y/n's on the fly explanation.

Is he doing all of this so that I don't have to go?
