"Keep your eyes closed' you said as you guided Hailee out into your backyard "They are closed" Hailee replied, "and stop we're here...keep em closed" Hailee sighs and you laugh "And open" Hailee opens her eyes to see a blanket laying on the grass under a picnic basket and a bouquet of flowers "Wow" is all she says "that starstruck huh?" You say brightly smiling

Hailee then snaps out of her trance and tightly hugs you "you remembered" she says as she looses her grip around you "well I'm not gonna forget our one year anniversary of dating" you say dropping your arms to around her waist "no no, I mean you remembered where our first date was" she pulls you closer and quickly kisses your lips a few times "of course I did...come on, sit" you unwrap your arm from around her and sit on the blanket leaning over to your phone and pressing play on the playlist

"For you" you pick up the flowers and hand them to Hailee whose now sitting across from you, "thank you" she takes the flowers from you and smells them before placing them carefully down next to her

You open your arms and signal for Hailee to hug you, she scoots over the blanket and lays in between your arms, you let your body fall slightly onto the blanket so her body was on top of yours and she softly laughed which made you smile "what?" she innocently asked "nothing you're just cute" you replied which made her blush and she quickly turned her head in the opposite direction "hey c'mon don't turn away" you gently placed your finger under her chin and turned her head back to face you "there you go" you smiled and she laughed

There was a comfortable silence while Hailee just lay in your arms, until she perked her head up like a meerkat when a new song began "What's up?" You ask a bit concerned "the song...we sang this on our first date" Hailee got off you and sat up straight and you did the same "I guess you could say it's our song then" you chuckled before leaning over and turning it up

The chorus began and Hailee starts singing along

She stands up and takes your hand pulling you up too

Hailee starts swaying with the music softly singing along still, you sway with her then spin her around which makes Hailee laugh

As the song continues you and Hailee are still swaying hand in hand

Hailee leans in and connects your lips as you wrap your arms around her neck pulling her closer, she wraps her arms around you waist

You feel a drop of water land on your shoulder but not thinking much of it the kiss continues until multiple drops of water start to land on you, you pull away from the kiss and look up at the sky that has now been filled with grey clouds "aw shit...rain" you look back at Hailee "so?" She cups your cheek and pulls you in again connecting your lips

Hailee moves her hand from your cheek and pulls away, both of you now soaked in the summer rain "You get that end of the blanket and I'll get this end" she says and you nod before leaning down to pick up your end of the blanket "go go go" Hailee yells as you run towards the house

You carefully put down the blanket onto the conservatory floor before turning to Hailee and starting to laugh "What are the chances it starts to rain" you say once you calmed down "Made the moment even better" she says placing her hands on your waist pulling you in once more, you crashed your lips against hers smiling into the kiss
