You sat in your quarters, playing with your three year old son. You were beginning to get worried because he hasn't said his first word yet. You and your husband, Leonard, had been trying to get him to talk.

"Mommy," you tell him, trying to see if he would say it. He wouldn't. "Cat," you say. Still, nothing.

"Okay, Noah, how about cow." You say.

"Ow," Noah said. You shake your head.

"Cow," you repeat. "Ow," Noah says again. It wasn't working.

Just then, Leonard entered your quarters.

"Did he say anything?" He asked sitting down on the floor next to you and Noah. You shake your head.

"Can you say Daddy?" You ask Noah, while pointing to Leonard.

"Daddy," Noah says. You and Leonard were shocked. The two of you glanced at each other, than to Noah, than to each other again.

"Noah!" You exclaimed picking him up. "You said your first word!"

"Daddy!" Noah says clapping his hands together. Leonard had a huge grin in his face.

"You can say Daddy!" He said taking Noah from you. "You love daddy?" Noah nods and starts clapping again. You smile and clap with him.

"I wuv daddy." He said hugging Leonard. Today was an amazing day, even though he couldn't say he loved you yet.
