"I seriously hate away missions. Why do we even have them? They always end badly!" Jim Kirk exclaimed, glancing over at you. Today's away mission didn't go to well.
It all started well. A small away team, as requested by the locals of the planet, was beamed onto the surface. The team only consisted of five members. You, Kirk, Chekov, Spock, and a red shirt, Jeffery.
Jeffery, being a red shirt, had died. Spock was shot in the arm with an arrow, causing him to have a damaged artery that needed surgery to be repaired. Chekov was blown off of a hill, literally. He had a broken leg and a concussion. Everything was fuzzy and just colorful blobs to him right now.
Kirk got a broken arm and quite a few bruises from a fistfight. You, similar to Chekov, were blown off of building. You landed very painfully on hard rock. Your left shoulder and leg took most of the hit, but your right took a beating too.
So here you lay, in the sickbay, surrounded by two doctors, four nurses, and your very agitated boyfriend, Jim. He blamed himself for the whole thing.
Jim was extremely worried over your condition. So far, they had found two fractures in the left leg, four broken ribs, on the left, two on the right. Thus also found a dislocated left shoulder, five fractures in your left arm, as well as one in your right.
The doctors wouldn't even let you move they were so worried. Jim sat by your side, assuring you everything would be okay. You overheard McCoy say something like 'It's amazing she isn't paralyzed. But we should be glad she isn't.' That really freaked you out.
Later that night, Jim Kirk paced his quarters. He couldn't believe all of that happened, and to his girlfriend and friends. The whole away mission was a disaster and it was his fault. The team should have been smaller. They should have negotiated better. He didn't even know what they did wrong, but they did something.
One man was dead because of him. And three injured, not including himself. But Jim could barely feel the pain in his arm, he never told the doctors about the injury. He just hid it.
Why do all the bad things happen when I am in charge of missions. Jim thought to himself again. Whenever Spock is in charge nothing goes wrong everything's perfect. Y/N is hurt now, very badly because of me. I'm not even allowed to be there. They forced me back to my quarters to 'rest'
Jim barely slept that night. He kept tossing and turning, worrying about you. The instant he was aloud to, he visited you.
"Hey, Y/N." He said, caustically entering your room.
"Hey Jim." You mutter back, smiling.
"How are you feeling?" He asked, sitting on a chair by your bed. All of the bones had been healed, but they were still sore. Very sore.
"Sore and the light is a little bright, but in fine." You say, looking into his blue eyes. Were they always that blue? You think to yourself.
"Great!" He exclaimed, perking up a little bit. He moved the chair closer, and you noticed that his arm was black and blue, not to mention swelling.
"What happened to your arm?" You ask.
"I just hurt it in a fight on that stupid planet." He muttered.
"Why didn't you get it looked at?" You ask, squinting at the light. Why were they so bright anyway?
"I was too worried about you." He said, grabbing your hand with his good arm.
"Well, I'm fine. Get it looked at." You say.
"But-"
"No buts, go." You command, pointing the to door.
"Yes sir!" Jim said saluting you on his way out.
